I'd hate to try to put a stringwinder on those keys, though...

Hey Mikiepoo, the string winders work fine, they clear fine, suprisingly and thankfully.
Come by and look at it, I haven't heard from the owner I did this service for yet, so it's still here.
Your buddy,

Who cares about the gold tuners. What about the solid gold tension springs!!

I wouldn't use a string winder either, unless it's THIS one-----------------

Bobbe, if I wasn't in CA right now for a week, I'd be there drooling... with my cup, of course, to keep it off that steel...

Great colour and restoration. Shame that there aren't before and after pics. I notice the black metal plate attached to the inside of the front apron. Is that to reduce cabinet drop?
She'll be good for another 30 or 40 years now.

Ken, no, it's to cover up all the termite damage. Some of the little bugs were killed when the train hit it last week! Ha! Ha!
Seriously, yes and it also helps in a couple of other ways also. This was a Jeff Surratt and Duane mod suggestion. I agreed.

What can I say, and it hasn't been 3 years! It's been half that and well worth that wait.
Now I can start fresh once again. I put my Carter Starter away months ago and have been banging on my guitar, waiting and thinking THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD.
Yup, it is!
Bobbe I'll give you a call Saturday.
Daryl
I do have before photos I'll put on here tonight.
Excited can't even describe how I feel!!!!!!

Yes Daryl, put up some "before" pictures, I have forgotten what it looked like myself, (it's been so long).
Again, thanks for the nice remarks from all you guys, Daryl really does have a great guitar here. Hard to tell where the train hit it from twenty feet away! (Oh no!)

Hey Bobbe, great job on the Sho-Bud. The color is beautiful and the gold keys really enhance the looks of the guitar.
A new found picking Buddy of mine has a Sho-Bud Pro III, D-10, 8 & 4 and metal necks, natural finish. He bought the guitar in 1980 from Herb Remington. It is a beautiful guitar and plays like dream. It is in great shape and just needs a little cleaning. Of course he doesn't want to get rid of it. When I played it, just couldn't believe how easy the pedals and knee levers were. Just thought I'd tell you about it, I'm still drooling. Henry

these are a couple of original photos of (BEFORE) I sent it to Bobbe. Ricky's fireplace ought to look familiar. The guy I bought it from in L.A. met me at Blackie's Shop in Riverside for the purchase.
It was pretty beat, although to me it was something I always wanted. But it needed something special done to it to make it a lifelong keeper. So off it went to Bobbe in the summer of 2006. He sent me photos of the new finish and I began to drool.... luckily I'm a patient guy. The outcome was more than worth the wait.
All I can say Bobbe, is thank you so very much for such a special Pro I !!
