Jim deserves another bump, Been listening to his CD " SAWED OFF SHOTGUN"

Jim captures some very cool retro sounds, Anyone who wants to know what
classic steal playing on a Emmons sounds like? This is it, Jim Nails it!

Super player, Greg

I'll never forget Mr. Losseberg giving this total beginner much of his time at the Haskell Ranch Rodeo several years ago. Seems like you've known him for ever and I'll always remember his generosity. Ditto on the CD "Sawed Off Shotgun"!!

Got to see Jim in Austin with Justin Trevino and a drummer, just the three of them. Just amazing. It was the A-Å (A-Z in English) lesson in classic steel playing. Superb tone and mind blowing playing.

Texas is blessed with some of the best steel player around (Jim, Randy Reinhard, Dicky Overby, Tommy Detamore, Herb Steiner, Rick Price and others). I recomend the Bobby Flores records!

I agree with Tore: Jim Loessberg is great! And for me he covers even more, namely the A-Ö lessons in classic country and bebop steel playing. Without Jim's guidance, I don't think I would be playing as much jazz steel as I do today.

Sawed off shotgun are great tracks to practice with.
One reason they sound so good is the technique used to record them. If you pan right you will hear the wet mix
and dry on the other. The selection of material, the recording techniques and the masterful playing of not only Jim but all the musicians is the best.
They make a "wanttobe" like me want to throw rocks at my steel but end up inspiring me to keep trying.
God bless Jim.
Gordon.

I got to see Jim at the PSGA show back in Nov. and was an instant Fan. I got two of his CDs, one being the Bebop Cd and lent it to a Jazz Fan friend of mine who knows nothing about steel guitar music, but was he impressed, he said it will be in his regular rotation, hope I get it back some day. :\

Is Jim still playing with Ray Price? I'll be seeing The Chief in Plant City, FL in March, just wondered.

I'd like to add my admiration for Jim. The latest CD, "Bebop, etc." is an inspiration, as is the sound he gets out of his Wraparound. As far as I know he still has the Ray Price gig, and he's perfect for it. Getting to play bass for him at the SWSGA show recently was a thrill. It's obvious how high a standard he holds himself to and I spent considerable time in my room with the iPod listening and practicing to try and live up to those standards.
