OK Guys, here in North Carolina, there is NO Blue Bell ice cream that I am aware of. It sure does sound good!

I'll be glad to ship a tub of our laundry detergent (which is regional at this point, but we're trying to expand) to one of you in exchange for a half gallon of Blue Bell :D

David, I'd send you one for free but I don't think you'd like it in liquid form. When frozen, it's the best!

I have not seen the commercial but I have tasted Blue Bell ice cream many times. All you guys that have never had any Blue Bell have just missed quality ice cream. It will be interesting to find out who the steel player is on the commercial. I remember a few years ago there was an explosion down at Brenham,Texas where the Blue Bell factory is. I asked if it hurt the Blue Bell factory but never thought about asking if anyone was hurt or killed in the explosion. I think that today I will just buy me some more of that ole Blue Bell.

The answer, maybe?.........

On his webpage there is a blog entry about some live show where he thanks his bandmates:
Brian Thomas, Randy Wall, Joe DeLeon and Robert DiBlanco
Anyone know any of these names?

I must add---his website touts his collaboration with the good folks at Jim Beam. Does this mean that there is a Jim Beam/chocolate chip flavor in the near future? I'm so there! No, wait. I'm totally here. Oh well.

On a google search I did yesterday, a newspaper review talked about Brian Thomas on pedal steel for the Clay Farmer Band, does anyone know Brian??? I have not noticed the ice cream in the stores here in NC, I did see the commercial on TV the other night...Terry V.

Ward Skinner: Thank you for the info!

I was originally curious if the steel player was an active member of the forum, but apparently not.

It's always a treat when a major advertisement includes a steel guitar, not to mention the video shots of the band.

Now....back to my French Vanilla............

I know Brian. He's a good musician, and a nice guy. Lives in Houston, plays a Sierra 12 string.

And Bobby B. is right about the bajo pickin' - he is great. :)

I still have not seen the commercial on television. However, I am at the present time enjoying a bowl of Blue Bell ice cream. I hope they can get a market in some of the other states so you guys can enjoy the quality of this ice cream.

HOLY MOLY! Thats good ice cream and that pickin
is fine, too.

A note to the steel community. A flavor from Blue Bell called "Moo-llenium Crunch" has added an
ample cushion between me and my Mullen.

Moollinium Crunch is my favorite.
Named after the new MSA, of course.
