Howdy from Wisconsin. I'm looking forward to the show. It's coming up before long. My pickers-block has set in and I can't think of a set list. I may just play one song over and over.

Hi Gary,
Yes, Jim was a drummer. He worked with us for a short time..maybe a couple of weeks. Then, Craig White took his place. We had Pat Jackson (bass), Jack Martin (lead) and Dale Hopkins (fiddle). Dan Starr owned the place and claimed the band while he fronted and sang a couple of sets.
I recall you stopping in one night and sitting in with us. You looked like you just finished plowing. Dale said, "wait til you hear this guy". And I never knew when Dale was being sarcastic. Then, you knocked our socks off with some Ray Price tunes.
Several good months of playing there.
Always a wild crowd there. Many came up from the dry counties of Arkansas on the weekends.

Tyler,
Playing one song over and over would be OK. Unless it's "Okie from Muskogee". That song gets old fast.

Hi Everybody,
We are still working on the great show we have planned for Saturday June 9th at the Jubilee Theater, at Marshfield, MO.
We already have a great line up of steel players for that day, and there are some who are not yet confirmed. THat's the reason were are not saying yet on a final list of everyone, til we see if their schedules will allow them to come or not.
There several great singers and other instrumentalists confirmed too.
It is well worth the cost of $10 for the entire day of events. There is all types steel players and instrumentalists to be featured, with vocalists also. We have a special guest coming for the children that morning.
Hope everyone can make it!
GOD bless!

There are going to be some great vocalist at our show this year too. Often these people are not mentioned as much as they should be. THeir talent and generosity help these shows to be more successful.
We have Rob Parker, Gary Atkinson, Tony Morrison, Chester & Laura Wood and others who will be helping with the vocals. Each of these singers are very talented and help us a bunch.
GOD bless!

Terry,
It seems like I've heard the name Tony Morrison before, but I can't place him. Where is he from? Do I know him?
The name may be ringing a bell because of the author Toni Morrison, who wrote "Beloved" and "The Bluest Eye". I read those books back in college.
Thanks,
David Tunnell

Just e-mail me a list of your songs and keys for your set. We allow 30 minutes per player, and it usually is around 7-8 songs.
This is going to be a really great show. We got a great bunch of steel players, vocalists and backup players lined up for that day. So far players from these states AL, KY, TN, AR, KS, OK, IA, MO, you would add a new state for us.

Terry,
I'm really glad to hear Don Helms is coming to the show. It is getting bigger and bigger.
It will be a pleasure to meet a true legend of country music. I talked to Mr. Helms one night a few years back at the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree. I went down there to see Johnny Bush and Buddy Emmons. Mr. Helms was as nice as he could be.

Good news, talked to Tyler Hall today and he is defintely coming to play our show this year. We were concerned as he took a new job playing recently with another one of the Branson, MO shows. But he says that he will join us that evening.
Tyler is a very gifted young steel player and one of the best new talents that I've seen in several years. I am glad he can join us.

Lem,
So you know the ole Roadhog too? I quoted him in a post up above. He's a goodern. And how about ole Wichita, the hot guitar player?
If anybody hasn't listened to the Statler Brothers' "Lester 'Roadhog' Moran" albums, you really should. It is the funniest thing I've ever heard. But it's only funny to musicians.

David,
Oh yeah, I love listening to Roadhog and the boys! Ol' Wich can really mock Chek Adkins playing that "take off" guitar, and Red & Wesley, the two young country sangers...man, what harmony!
I could listen to 'em every Saturday night, "alive" at the Jawwney Mack Brown High School! Awwwwright, mighty fine!

Hi Everybody,
Great news we have another fine steel guitarist joining us for this year's show on June 9th. Mr. Hank Ruf from Branson, MO and the Ozarks Steel Guitar Association will be performing.
Hank played a great set at the Siloam Springs, AR show a couple of weeks ago. I was especially impressed with his arrangements and his selection of songs. He had a great sound/tone from his steel guitar. One of the first things I listen to in a steel player is their tone. Hank is a great steel player. I am glad he is joining us for this year's show.
Thanks and GOD bless!
