I thought I was over the top with three pedal and two double neck non pedal , however I was wrong. Erv you are now my idol with twenty. Michael Strauss , just tell the Mrs. that you will dump the uke.

David F. - I believe the 2204S was the mini-stack 50-watt version of the JCM 800, not JCM 8000. The JCM 800 was the standard Marshall built during the 80s, and one of my favorite rock and roll amps. This site gives descriptions of many Marshall amps, with links to schematics: http://www.drtube.com/marshall.htm That mini-stack version is very cool - relatively lightweight and portable. Myself, I'd hold onto it for guitar - if you need a steel amp, they're really not very expensive. I see Peavey Session/Nashville series amps on the forum in good shape sometimes for around $300, a mere pittance in today's vintage-crazy amp world.

My favorite expression about numbers of guitars: One's too many and a hundred ain't enough. That about sums it up - for many other addictions also.

A Shobud D 10 8 & 5 a Carter D 10 8 & 8, A Nashnal non pedal. I would lioke to have a MSA Clasic D 10 and will when the time is right. Several Lead guitars Peavey , Preditor, a Horizon, and a T 60, Alverrize box, Fender ^ string, Keyboards, mandalin a drum set never played yet, A fidel, uke,Many Peavey amps, Nan wil not let me sell anything, she says we have it leave it alone.
I did jut sell david Jackson a shobud custom amp to use to demonstrate Jackson guitars with I think.

Hearing about all these great collections reminds me that we should all have wills with detailed instructions about how to get onto the Forum to sell our stuff back to the steel community when we are gone. I have nightmare visions of remaining spouses selling off marvelous collections for peanuts at yard sales to local 6-stringers that don't even know how to tune a steel guitar.

I have two buds(LDG,Pro II) and a ZB. I am expecting to get my new MSA in about a month. So this is why the cost of living keeps going up.

Right after Georgia and I got married, she asked me one day," Are there steel guitars in all those cases?" I said ,"yes ma'am. She said,:why do you need 8 steel guitars ?" I just had to run my mouth and said" One for each day of the week and a spare" She failed to see the humor in my statement and now I am down to three. Jody.

I also finally found someone who had just the head for sale. It was going for $1500.00. I bought mine about 10 years ago for $200.00. That was for the head and 2 X 12. I was hoping that I paid a fair amount. Hey, I think I did ok!
I wonder how much the head and cabinet together would be worth?

It's a very nice uke, got in Hawaii. But for what I paid for it, could be a good down payment on a good PSG. Besides, I've only sold 1 bass, a cheap acoustic to get a very good acoustic. I'm a junkie, as I think most musicians are,I love buying guitars and I use them all. I like the variety. My biggest problem is storage; this stuff takes up a lot of room.

Until recently I had four and am probably a lot worse of a beginner than Jim S. I've just acquired the ZB D-10 Grail (Hi, Tom A.) for which I sold a ZB S-10 and BMI S-10. So, plus one, minus two. I'm hanging onto a Sho-Bud 6139 3+1 I got from a friend and a Fender 800 (candy apple red!) that was only worth $260-something + tax to a big-box retailer. All tone monsters. Given my inability to resist a bargain, I suspect there will be more again soon. Defintely another BMI someday and I'm sure curiosity will lure me to other vintage and contemporary makes. Meanwhile there's still the obscene roster of acoustic Hawaiians, resonators, laps and table steels.

I dunno.
I have one fine SU12 Millenium, that gets played almost everyday.
It is light enough to chunk in the back of the Suburban any time. Kinda like 2 or 3 times a week.
When it comes to no pedals, I grab and collect anything that I think will be be a good investment. I love to play all of them. At last count: 3 Fender multi-necks, a National, an Oahu, a Teisco
one 8 string UFO, and one MSA Superslide.

No less than 11 acoustic 6 stringers, 4 basses.

I will not discuss amps and efx.

Why do so many steelers have more than one steel? "because they can".

What's "need" have to do with it?

In the eary 1980s I had 6 guitars, but I only took to gigs the one that played the best and had the best tone. The others got sold, for me,they were no longer needed !

Well, I have a 14 stringer that Zane Beck and Don Fritsche built for me back in 1984. I have a 1937 Silver Ricky Rickenbacher. THese are the only steels that I have now. THey work for me. Yet, I did have two at one time, back in 1982-83 that was when I was playing 7 days a week. Then, I repented of that; the playin' seven days a week that is.

I think if you are playing all the time, it would be good to have two on hand in case one needed repairs. Other than that, it must be nice if you can afford several guitars and your Mrs. allows it.

I have 3 Pedal Steels..Desert Rose D-10 8+5,A Dekley S-10 3+5,A Blanton SD-10 4+4,I also have various lap Steels,and a Dobro.I do a fair amount of session work up here,and gigs,Being that Pedal Steel Guitars are mechanical it's always good to have a backup,Monday is usually my day for tweaking guitars..getting them in shape for whatever is going to happen that week.

I only have one and recently, it stay's at my band's house.

I wish I had another to leave here at home. I only get to play on Saturday nights.

I have several steelguitars.......but most of them are imaginary....like my friends.........

I am a very lucky guy cause I get to play a lot. I have my wonderful old MSA installed at the Blazin' M Ranch where I play 4 or 5 evenings each week. (Think Cowboy Dinner Theater) and last year I obtained a nifty little GFI for my other gigs. I chose the GFI S-12 keyless in part because of the tiny footpring on stage. Actually, there are no stages around here but just about every little honky tonk has a band on Saturday nights. So, we wind up jammed into a corner. It works great and takes up very little space.
So, 2 it is.

I've got 2, but I usually have one loaned out. The tone is different on the 2 guitars even tho they're the same brand. My thinking about having the same brand is that when you practice with one of them, the one you use on stage will have the same feel. You won't have compensate. But I do have 4 'great' amps. I'm considering selling my Webb but it's hard to let it go - sounds too good. But I need to be realistic. It's not doing anyone any good sitting in a corner.
