Bill, that was a feeble attempt at humor on my part. Think time zones and you'll get it. Seriously though, it is always a 6 1/2 to 7 hr run for me, depending on what time I go through Knoxville.

What would a drummer know about time?
Jim - I couldn't resist. You're the best!!!

Hartley,
Have we got a bass player for Saturday night, or is some goofball gonna have to do it?

Stephen,
I'm not sure if Wayne is gonna be there or not, so make sure the goofball brings his bass just in case. I'll see what I can do about getting a bass player.
See ya there,
Jim

Saluda or Saluda Shrine Club

by David Fields
I don't know where Slauda or the Shrine Club in Saluda is....AND I don't have a steel pedal nor have ever even touched one, but I will be there.
And I WILL learn to play one of these fine instruments one day soon.
I live in Seneca, and I will find the Shrine Club.
Wonder how far is it from Seneca to Saluda?
I have lived in SC for 13 years now, and know the upstate pretty good, but not much else.
I am a new member and I figure to get the chance to meet some people who know and play these wonderful instruments will be PRIME TIME for this ole boy.
Looking forward to it!

Hey David,
It's only about 2 1/2 hr from Seneca to Saluda and worth every mile. Come on down and join in the fun. Mapquest will show you the best way. The Shrine club is about 3 miles south of Saluda on Hwy 121.
See ya there,
Jim

Hi Jim,
I was thinking of you when I got the word about Del's passing. That must have been a tough time for you. How long was it that you played in his road band?
I can't make it for the Saturday night Jam, but will be there on Sunday. I am in Miami all of next week on buiness and can't get a flight back home in time to get to Saluda.
Looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the group.

Mr. Fields,
Take hwy 78, from Seneca to Clemson.(dam is on left).
After the dam turn right, with (Clemson football stadium,
basketball arena on the left.)
Go about 3/4 mile..turn right..after turn,golf course will
be on each side of that road.
Go approx 1 1/2 miles..
Turn right at the four lane..toward Anderson.cross I-85.
At the edge of Anderson, take the ramp.right,on Hwy 28
I think.
Follow 28 to Abbeville, thru Abbeville toward Greenwood
Near Greenwood, turn right on Hwy 225 ????bypass,
225 intersects with 25, and 178 S.E of Greenwood.
Turn right, follow till they split..take 178 fork left to
Saluda.
At Saluda, turn right on Hwy121, follow thru Saluda
towards Johnson.
Shrine bldg. is about three miles out...on left.
For safety, please observe speed limits in and out of
Saluda..and out 121..if you don't,the law officers
will usually stop you ,and give you a reminder...
From the Ford dealership in Seneca, to the Shrine bldg,
is about 110 miles...Most is four lane, but some two
lane...all good roads...
Have a good trip, and if you eat on the road, Yoders,
just at the east edge of Abbeville, I heard has really
good food....
RP...'come on in'...

Chuck, you might want to check out the motels in Newberry, SC. It's only about a 25 minute drive and there are a number of motels in Newberry...Hampton Inn, Days Inn, Best Western, Comfort Inn, Econo-Lodge and more.
Good Luck!
