Thanks to all. I am still working on set up at this point and getting familiar with 11, it's better cause it's one more than 10. I met Al Perkins in Franklin a couple of weeks ago which inspired me to play steel again and he seemed to always have an 11 zb and do things I never heard steel players do. Russ this steel isn't as pretty as the red one but has a cool vibe.

I remember when this steel was in the Chicago area, then the east coast, then the west coast now it looks really nice. :D

Cleaned, de-greased, lubricated with Tri-flo, reassembled, and playing so smoothly. Now I have to tackle the other half!

Mason,

My guess is 1972-73 for your steel. I had #0212 and it was from 1971. Keep at it and you'll do great.

My #0330 is from 1972. Sounds like a good trade, except it's harder to haul a sheet of plywood in a pedal steel.

Found this searching ... Zane built ZB on the east coast: Greg says that it has had the tuners changed and probably two of the KLS were added as well as a newer logo, but you don't see too many come available and still have both necks! The asking price is $950 :)

Russ, I have only seen two of these. One is owned by Harry Hatterer in York P.A. and is literally in mint condition. I worked on that guitar. The other was for sale at Billy Coopers. There were not many of these made and there are not many left. They sound fantastic.

If only I had a few extra dollars ... such is life. :) I agree with you about the sound.
