ZB (?) D-10 Craigslist sighting

One of the least descriptive, illustrative and literate craigslist ads you'll encounter, but here for what it's worth, is what might be a Bakersfield or Phoenix ZB D-10:

I have no stake in this and am only posting it here (as opposed to FS:I) for the ZB faithful.

Detroit Craigslist Zb D-10

I ended up pruchasing the ZB D-10 that John Billings mentioned (the one on Craigslist Detroit). Paul Redmond has, fortunately, agreed to do any needed adjustments for me, so I'm looking forward to playing a smooth ZB again. I will report back with more when I get to play it. steve t

Congrats on the recent purchase Steve, it's hard to beat a properly adjusted ZB, and Paul will do a great job for you. I'm in the final adjustment stages of refurbishing the red ZB donated to the Forum recently, and I hope to get the pics up here soon. I think the Forum folks will be surprised at what was under that red paint. Good luck with you purchase, Bob H.

Steve. That looks like a scranton to me. Should be a
beast of a tone with some pretty maple.
Good luck.

Have any of you rebuilt a ZB pickup? I'd like to know how they're made. I've heard them referred to as triple coils, but i've also heard that they are actually coil tapped single coils with an odd magnet configuration. I'm experimenting with winding a few pickups, and would love to make one similar to a ZB. I have a couple of Zbs , and love the sound, but don't really want to take one of my working pickups apart to see how it's made.
Has anybody got a junk ZB pickup they want to sell?

Here is an old video clip on youtube featuring the Hawking Brothers from Melbourne Australia .The late George Zanthos is playing the ZB that I believe is the one I own now :

Hello All,
I need some help identifying the serial number on my ZB D10 8/4. It looks like 0060. The second zero from left appears to have been double struck.

Thanks in advance!

Please post away with your ZB

Here are a couple pics of my first ZB, an S-10,Black with white fretboard and pickups. The pic in my backyard is when it was 5p & 2k and probably would have been taken in 1971 (judging by my long hair in a pony tail). The one on stage could have been taken between late 71 into 73. I have had 3 left knees added by that time. I forgot about the block that the guy I had add the left knees made to narrow the gap between the levers as the ZB knees were not adjustable.

Damn Russ, that single neck is really nice! Did ZB ever do a single neck with a pad or are all of the ones I've seen D-10s that have been converted to SD10?
