I've finally gotten around to working up a pretty decent version of Jerry Byrd's "Steelin' The Blues".
I played this song years ago in the C6th, non pedal, tuning.
This is the tuning the song was written for, however, I wanted to play it in E9th. It's really suprising how, with the help of the E lever, how close you can get to the C6th.
You'll have to decide if you think my efforts were worth the trouble!

Just received a dozen excellent tabs. Erv, these are fantastic! Great detail on the chords and melodies, and having everything laid out against the lyrics and measures is just the kind of thing I need to build up a repertoire. Just the kind of material that will help me take my playing up to the next level. Thank you!

My latest Country Classic dates all the way back to 1924: "Indian Love Call".
The reason I'm placing it in the country catagory is because I associate the song with Slim Whitman. He recorded it in 1952.
However, it started out as one of the songs in the operetta styled Broadway musical "Rose Marie".
Larry,
Your copy will be in the mail today.

Here is an order. (scroll down) Let me know the total with postage.
For anyone who hasn't seen these tabs, they are great time savers for players who want to learn tunes a in a hurry. They are especially good for players who read music because there is regular notation above the tab and it is all accurate. The tab matches the tune so well that a sound file is not necessary. They are all good arangements that are easy to transposed to other keys.
Gospel
Amazing Grace
Ave Maria (both versions)
Family Bible
I Am A Pilgrim
Where No One Stands Alone
Where The Roses Never Fade
In The Garden
I Feel Like Traveling On
CHURCH IN THE WILDWOOD
When They Ring The Golden Bells
Over The Next Hill We'll Be Home
Country and Standards
You Don't Know Me
Wildwood Flower
There Stands The Glass
Tracks of My Tears
Siver Haired Daddy Of Mine
Silver Threads and Golden Needles
My Hear Would Know

Country Classic Tabs
Hello Erv,
Just wondering if your tabs come with intro's and breaks,or if they are just the melody of the song?

My latest Country Classic is a song written by Lawton Williams in the early '60s: "Farewell Party".
He died in 2007 just two days after his 85th birthday.
Mr. Williams also wrote "Fraulein", "Color Of The Blues" and "Geisha Girl" .
"Farewell Party" was recorded by Jimmie Dickens in 1961, Johnny Bush in 1967, Waylon Jennings in 1969, Gene Watson in 1978 and Allan Jackson & Joe Nichols in 2004.
Gene Watson's version is the one most associated with this song.
My tab for this song is not a remake of Lloyd Green's excellent rendering but more atune to the original song as written by Lawton Williams.
It is also a lot easier to play.
As I was tabbing out this song, I could hear some phrasing from "Fraulein" in it.
I hope you like it.
