Was Paula Abdul stoned out of her mind last night or just hammered?

She sure was not on the same planet that every one else was on.

Paula was fantastic last night. I bet that Itunes would make more money from Paula's comments than from the Idols singing.

You're just now noticing! :D
I was giving her credit last night everytime she would make a nice short comment, thinking to myself "great Paula, keep it short and give it to Simon now..."
And then she'll keep on talking and it's like watching a train wreck!

She can't even TALK!

Brooke nailed it.

I also really like the irish singer Carly Smithson. She could rock if she wanted.

I don't think Amanda will cut it unless she can belt out a rock ballad.

Kristy did show her country side a little. As Paula would say, she needs to be true to herself. I'd like to see some more of that country side of her.

I think Amanda and the last girl that preformed last night are out.

Good for Paula & Randy!

I'm glad Danny is gone.

Wrong call on the ladies.

Donna..I thought that was astute!!

Thinking about one of the guys that got tossed....Bambi's Mama said..."If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all!" :\

Jack, Maybe next year he can try out for the girls

I'm glad Danny's gone too! I wanted to duct-tape his head down to his shoulders and put a pacifier in his mouth. He was difficult to watch. I guess the Vote-For-The-Worst tactic didn't appeal to as many as last year.

Having heard Kristy sing non-country previously, I felt like her country voice sounded a little contrived. Did anyone else think so?

Hey Donna,
Gregg didn't think she sounded Country by the song she sang.
He and I like her, no matter. :)

Thanks Theresa, I'm just trying to play along, like Donna suggested. :)

regarding Danny..

Simon should have said..

"The reason you lost is because you sang on the wrong night " !

The next one that needs to go is Paula.:(

I can't take her "You are a shining star and true to yourself" comments anymore. I don't even know what that means

I say bring back the kid with the monkey eyes from last year.

I can't stand to watch the show myself, but my wife and daughter love it. Personally, I would prefer that they called the show, American Idle or perhaps American Idiots.

I stopped watching after Brooke did Let it Be... She nailed it. I really like her and she's totally cute! :D
I started watching with Jucuzzi and I thought he did a great job with She's a Woman!
But I just had to let it be... It got old quick tonight I guess. You can really start to tell who's great and who's mediocre. I'll pick it up again next week.
Instead I went and took a shower and now going to put on a movie I rented called "August Rush."
This one should be fun!
:)

way to go Kristy!

I saw and heard a steel guitar on Kristy's "Eight Days A Week". Anyone know who?

Overbearing Steel

It seemed that the steel was getting in the way of her vocal, especially at the tempo they were doing it. It kind of had a polka on steroids beat...which as you saw didn't help her cause as far as being around next week. The steel may have been overmixed or whatever but the whole thing just seemed kind of strange...

That's a perfect description, Peter. I watched and listened with an uncontrollable RCA-DOG-head-tilt spasm wondering what the heck what going on. I thought it was just me.

David A. wont pull it out to the end unless he gets a grip. I wonder if this may be way too much pressure for him. He started out doing great, but his self-confidence is starting to show.

Brook was really great! Chacuzzi(?) was awesome!! I never expected something like that from him. David Cook was good, too. Carly - well, THAT goes without saying. WHAT a voice!

Other comments?
PS - Doug, you're doing GREAT! I'm proud of you for playing nice. :P

Jacuzzi Did Great

I'm sorry I cannot pronounce nor remember his real name with any consistency which I admit is my fault. I thought his presentation was very crafty and when I saw the pastoral aggregation at the beginning I knew right where he was going from Flatt and Scruggs to Lynard Skinerd without dropping a beat. His voice all of a sudden has a thunder and authority previously invisible. I was not particularly fond of him until last night. The Irish lady(Carry?) is making it kind of hard on the other rocking chick with the multi toned hair. Eventually she isn't going to be able to power ball ever vocal and we will find out if there are more melodic sides of her. Finally, if the writers strike hadn't happened I wouldn't be sounding like some ersatz Hedda Hopper and discussing this stuff but it did and I am....go figure
