The Hal Rugg with Paycheck clip posted here was a Perm. guitar. I forgot who I sold it to but remember buying it from Hal during one of his "gotta clean the garage out" days. Really wish I'd have saved that one for me. Sad

Thanx for that cool experience, Bobbe. Hal Rugg was such a monster player. I always loved to see him on the Wilburn Bros Show playing fingertips and perms. He always had tone to die for.

Yes, it's a Permanent. And a nice one!

"Maby it would make a good parts guitar??"

NOOOOOO! It is a wonderful guitar as is, just needs some work!
Are the bellcranks welded onto the cross shafts" If not, that would make it a bit later. I'm thinking around 1960. Could you add a few pics of the keyheads and the underside first 3 pedals workin's?

I remember that guitar, Bobbe-ster. You sold it to my friend Chris Lawrence, a former Austinite who for years has been a part of the LA Alt-Country scene.

Haven't heard from Chris in years, but I'll bet he still has that horn.

Bobbe-ster and Herbster--got a question for youz---I have 9 floor pedals on my fingertip, which seemed to be the norm back in the day.

What change would you put on that 9th pedal?

Saturday, I basked in Shobud Fingertip tone, as projected through my Fender Vibrosonic, as well as 100 degree sunshine. Nasty 35 mph wind at our back sides--our sound probably carried on up to Kansas. Glad I had an extra George L cable for my hat! Evil Twisted

Here's another with the Franklin pedal. These copedants might not be to sophisticated by some's standards, but I can squeeze quite a bit of music out of my Fingertip with these 2 setups. It's fun to experiment.

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forum. I just signed up today. This thread is what caused me to go ahead and register so that I could talk with you fellow Sho-Bud lovers. I recently acquired a '60-'63 permanent, formerly owned and played by Jim Evans. From everything I can see in this thread, It's a first run guitar. It has offset keys, ball end rollers... And until a couple weeks ago, it hadn't seen daylight since '83. Maybe you guys could give me a little of your knowledge on what kind of animal I'm working with... Confused

Jake,
It seems that it takes a minute or so for the Forum to upload pics. Wait a while before clicking on the "Send" button.

If what John suggest doesn't seem to work, go ahead and clic send, and just give it time. It might take a couple of minutes. Be glad to help.
