I think if you want that Stringmaster sound, you've got to add the pedal/knee changes to an existing Stringmaster type structure. You would need to maintain the thick wood body and simple bridge arrangement and make all the changes at the key head end. I sure like the sound of those old non-pedal guitars and the way they would sit in the music of the day.

Tony, I use the GFI student copedent for their 10 string - minus the top two strings. It works out pretty good.
