Just got on the Forum and heard the news. Bobbe will be missed greatly. We went a few times to his store in Hendersonville. He always made you feel welcome and treated you like a dear friend. Our deepest sympathy to his family. Rest-in-Peace Bobbe.

Bobbe was always so nice to me. I will always be so grateful to him for selling me the Peavey LTD that I have used on all the "You Can Be A Star" and "Country Family Reunion" TV shows. Just about every time I use my Red Emmons, I play through that amp..

As you can tell from the number of posts, he was good to a lot of folks, including me, over the years. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.

I just heard of his passing and i'm sadden to say the least! Bobbe and I have been friends for many years. He helped me when I first arrived in town some 35 years ago. First time I walked into the store I introduced myself and said I just moved here to work the road, he said "are you playing tonight" and I said no and he said "wanna play at The Highway 31 Restaurant for me" and that started a wonderful friendship. That was the person he was. I heard so many stories from him, like the ones he put in his newsletter. I will miss Bobbe! You are in a Wonderful place now!

Bobbe was definitely a friend to steel pickers no matter your playing level. Great source of information on many subjects. He will be missed.

Anyone know where his obituary can be seen?

RIP Bobbe.

The great loss of Bobbe

I had the pleasure of meeting Bobbe only one time, and must say it was a real pleasure. I had hoped to see him again this summer, but I guess that will not happen now. Miss you Bobbe.

I cannot believe it. Bobbe was certainly one of the most charismatic performers, and people, I had the chance to meet. And truly a shepherd for a large number of the players out there. To know he is gone will be as tough for all of the steel guitars, as it is for us players.

Thank you for everything, Bobbe.

Bobbe's passing

This was a shock to me. I knew he had some health issues, but thought he was getting better. He will be sadly missed. Prayers for His family.

So sad to learn of Bobbe's passing. Like many of you,I never met Bobbe face to face but after many phone conversations and e-mails he became a special friend. Several years ago I called him to see if he knew a good aircraft mechanic in that area that could perform a pre-buy inspection of an airplane that I was helping a friend purchase. We must have talked at least 45 minutes about airplanes, flying,
and of course, steel guitar. I am just so sorry that I did not get to meet him and shake his hand. What a
loss to our community. RIP Bobbe Seymour

Thanks Damir! That was a fun day riding with you and Bobbe, he loved riding motorcycles and flying those airplanes!

Be well,

John

What a real bummer. When I first got into this whole steel guitar thing, Bobbe's website, his newsletter, and his postings really pulled me in and got me going. You could tell the passion he had for steel, and more so, for people. I never met him personally, but know we lost a good one.

He seemed like a great guy, I know he was.

RIP Bobby. You were one of the first guys I met when I moved the Nashville in the late seventies. I know the last couple years were tough. Glad you're not suffering anymore.

Only met Bobbe a couple times. You could name any steel player and he would have a funny story to go with them. Seemed like a good guy. Rest easy . Your good times have just started with the Lord. :)
