I am so stoked to be attending the full weekend this year. I won't be buying a new PSG this time, but I'm looking forward to all the great playing and bringing home plenty of CD's and some teaching material. I'm admittedly a little green still after only being at this for a few years. I've only heard a little of Jody's playing, but I am expecting that to be one of the real treats this year, all the other awesome players not withstanding. This is such an incredible show (and value!) every year. Hopefully this year's turnout will justify it continuing along the same lines for many years to come. I hope everyone that could possible attend, does themselves a favor.

Great news!

I just received my acceptance notice in the mail. I re-applied for the position of "Steel Reporter."

There was a little confusion at first. I was accepted for the position of "porter", until Bob put his reading glasses on... Image

So, you guys who are onstage, you'll have to contend with me snooping and prying for a scoop! And don't bring your dogs to the show.....I don't do that kind of scooping! Image

Jody,

Amigo, what a wonderful way to start off a day with seeing you posting again. What even adds to the euphoric mood is that it is for our long awaited PSGA show. This has got to be one the best shows that we have done.

Jody, thanks for your kind comments about the small part that I can give to the show. It is my pleasure to do this for the PSGA and also to get the opportunity to see and enjoy and chat with all my heroes including you.

Now for the good/bad news. As of this morning 10/31/2005, the Doubletree Hotel in Norwalk, CT is sold out on Friday 11/11 and Saturday 11/12 for our PSGA show, there are some rooms left on Sunday, 11/13. The bad news, our discounted PSGA $80.00 room rate no longer applies but the hotel will still accept reservations at the much higher cost per night.

Then again, the Hotel screwed up 2 weeks ago by announcing all PSGA blocked rooms were booked when they were not. So if you had tried to make a reservation before today, but didn't, due to having to pay the full room rate, they will accept the reservation TODAY 10/31/2005 at the discounted rate. You must phone the hotel before business hours end at 1-203-523-2208 and speak to Christine. You MUST speak directly to her, the front desk knows nothing.

Bob I'm not at all suprised, my daughter tried getting a room a few days ago and was told the hotel was sold out. This has to be the biggest show that you have had and the musicians and steel players warrant that kind of attendence.

I am please to be a part of the great lineup
of steel Icons who I admire and have admired over the past years. AS Bob suggested call before you decise to give up hope there may be few rooms still available.

Up above, Herby Wallace had a comment about the price of the show...

Friends, if Herby Wallace was the only performer you saw, he alone would be worth the price of admission. When he plays, he will amaze you with his technique and his talent. If you have never been to Norwalk, or if you have never seen Herby play, come this year and check it out. You will not believe anyone could play so many notes, so cleanly, and so fast! I stand in awe when I see this master perform...

There are other excellent players who will appear as well. To see and hear so many fine, professional players, and to get to meet them "up close and personal," is a bargain for the price of admission to the Norwalk shows. If you haven't been there, make this the year you attend!

See you at Norwalk!

Yes, Herby swings like ther's no tomorrow. He plays fast and clean, but not just for the sake of speed. His playing says something, always. And I always look forward to his sets.

I have noticed though, the closer it gets time for Chuck's Steak House, the faster he plays... Image

PSGA Show Player schedule change for Sunday, Nov. 13th!

Since 3 of our Nashville based players have early evening flights from NY City back home to Nashville we've had to modify the originally posted schedule. The new Sunday sked is at:
http://www.psga.org/pages/celeb.html

All of our shows are subject to schedule changes due to situations over which we have no control. Sorry for any confusion.

Never mind the great steel playing next weekend, wait to you see the new Doubletree hotel.
Total renovation & only been open for about 4 months.
And what do you mean Howard my brother can sing? What are you trying to say about my vocals?
Next thing you guys will start talking about my father's singing.
Let's keep our focus here!
[This message was edited by JEFFDEMAIO on 03 November 2005 at 08:23 PM.]
