Al - I can only imagine what it was like to hear music and not have your steel with you. But I can also imagine you sitting there listenting to that music, and picturing where your hands were going, from fret to fret. Al I guess you have to do what you have to do, but I dang sure wouldn't like it.

Ron. and all who have signed in, I just had a ,( Hankerin,) there was hundreds of Veteran's, also many still serving in the Military, who are associated with The Forum, I did not have my lap steel with me, but managed to find one,
and like Al, I listened to what radio we could hear way out there, and when I did get back home, went right back to work with the old Gang, Some of them had done a Tour of Duty about the same time,
God Bless and keep you that are still out there pounding the ground,
Also, all who have done their TOD

USN 1950-1954....USS Consolation (AH-15)-Hospital Ship...The ship received wounded from battlefield Primarily while anchored at Inchon Harbor, Korea and also other locations. Played steel with a country band while on the Consolation--a great bunch of guys. I was later transferred to the USS Ashtabula (AO-51)-Oil Tanker.
