Herb, I just had dinner with old friend Gary Kaplan and for reasons that escape me I mentioned your accident and L.A. history. He gave me an odd look and said, "Ask him about The Pseudo Mountain Boys". Well?

Sorry to hear of your acccident, Herb. I'm glad you weren't more severely injured. Also sorry for the loss of your vintage 240Z. Airbags and crumple zones probably arn't such a bad thing. Here's to a quick recovery.

Dang!

Herb,

I just now read this thread about your accident, good time to break out the dobro I guess. Don't get impatient, recovery may be frustrating at times, so try to use this time to work on some new joke material.

Herb sorry to hear about your accident mate, the best way to keep off your foot is to sit at your steel :D so it can't be that bad - shame you can't make it to Dallas, but I hope to catch up with ya next year !

Best with the recovery.

Herb I kind of know what you are going through. I didn't break my foot but I frectured a bone in my back. It hurt so bad I couldn't do anything but lay in bed and take the medications they gave me. After I started to heal I noticed I couldn't lift my left foot off the floor. After a back surgery too repair the bone they said would heal on its own, and 2 months recovery I went to 2 specialists, a sports medicine Doc, and he gave some shots in my ankle , one every two weeks for 2 months. I also went to a chiropractor about the same time and the lady gave me an electrical shock treatment that along with the shots really looseded my ankle.
It is still in a recovery mode. I am able to play but sometimes I wished I hadn't.
Herb you are a good man and with the forum behind you and the Lord too, I wish you a speedy recovery.
Call me when you get tired of nursing that NOSE and FOOT, and thanks for getting me another shot on the Texas Show, it has been awhile,
Your Friend

Hey Herb,

Sorry to hear about your accident, and I'm going to miss you in Dallas.

I had a similar deal a couple of years ago (severely broken ankle). I did two things which really helped:

-put a volume control on my pedal steel because the volume pedal was a no go

-Got a roll-a-bout walker, which is much better than a walker or crutches. It looks like this:
