Hey Gene...to me, this thread is very much like the song that never ends :whoa: I won't be asking you to look up a serial number, just want to say I appreciate your actions here on the forum. You obviously care very much about Sho-bud guitars and to be willing to share your knowledge is a terrific resource for the folks here on the forum. It's like everyone is getting news about a long lost relative...Very interesting, I'd only hope you don't allow yourself to get too bogged down. Kudos Gene, now get some time in on your own guitar man. Enjoy.

Speaking of Gene's gtr, didn't I see a pic of him on the web somewhere recently?
He was playing a rare Sho-Bud Old Hickory SD10...which is an SD version of a SuperPro. Very cool.

Guitar model 6148 serial # 14081 built 1/22/79 shipped to Scotty's Music 1/29/79 Built by J.E.?
Thanks Gene! Getting just a little peace of history on an old instrument means a lot to me.
No signatures underneath, but i bought it from St.Louis so it appear to have spent it's first 30 years there.
Once again thanks. Highly appreciated!

Jay, I'm thinking the B.S. could be Bob Simmons from Simmons Steel Guitars over in Alabama.

Didn't Bobbe Seymour also work at SHO-BUD at some point in that time?

Gene , again thanks so much. This is just amazing that you've been able to finally open up the records and put the information out there on these old beautiful PSG's. Is this the first guitar that you've come across on here that you built? Wondering if you can tell me anything else about the others you mentioned, Evelyn Pratt, and Yasu Kamiya. :D Thanks Todd

Dear Mr. Haugh,

Thank you for your contributions on this thread. What did folks discuss before you came along?!

I just bought my first pedal steel guitar yesterday - a Sho-Bud model 6148, serial # 9735. I'm hooked.

Any chance you could tell me anything about its date and place of manufacture?

Sorry to burden you - please take your time and thanks again for your efforts.

Matt
