YES......"DizzyFingers would be a challenge" for sure.

How about "Saxaphonola" and 'Flight of the BumbleBee"?

InterLude is also great and considerably slower.

'Peace In The Valley", 'Bridge Over Troubled Waters",
'Unmitigated Gall" 'Last Date", 'Can't Help Falling In Love", 'Don't Forbid Me", 'Love Letters In The Sand", 'The Waltz You Saved For Me", 'Lonely Street", 'Invitation To The Blues", 'Racing In The Street", 'There Goes My Everything".

Of course, I don't know for sure if all of them would work. I'm just a beginner. They are just ideas.

Instrumentals

On the British Steelies website, a challenge was laid down to do "Blue velvet" the Bobbie Vinton number from the 50s.

It's a great number to play.

Hi

Post by David Hartley »

This is the first I have seen of your replys to this thread for a long time. Many thanks for the suggestions, and the ones I recognise the titles to, I like the idea of, a lot.
Thanks too for whoever found this old posting too and bringing it up near the top so I can see it.
I am having a weekend on the steel s I have no gigs and after prepring some tab for video I may see if I can play some of these tunes.

Many thanks again, it is really appreciated.

David,
Almost anything by the Four Seasons (as in 'Jersey Boys' opposed to Vivaldi) is good fodder. Great melodies, eminently danceable--seems like stuff right up your alley!
Cheers, and all that!

I was just reminded of another song that I think would work well on steel.

"Rocket Man" by Elton John

"Rhythm of The Rain", the song released in November of 1962 by the Cascades would make a good steel instrumental.

Hi David,

Have you done Blue Bayou? Old Linda Ronstadt Tune.
Fox on the Run (Blue Grass)?
I can't tell you why (Eagles)?
Lyin Eyes (Eagles)?

I look forward to hearing anything you do. Your Backing Track are great too.
