Hey Duane..
..do they call that the "Sphincter Galaxy"?
Sorry, I know it's nothing to laugh at.

Planet Flatulence?
Are we headed for nothing?

This discussion is verging towards the
infinite, and
infinity is a long way from nothing unless you divide by it.
Actually, you can't do anything with infinity.
You can't have 1 +
∞ because that number would be bigger than
∞, and by definition nothing is bigger than
∞.
You can't have 2 x
∞ for the same reason.
Wow, it must be
really big, in fact I'm really impressed.

DD, if you're trying to show that you
can do something with infinity.... But
√ ∞, that's infinity or it's
nothing.
You are toying with my sensibilities....

I was trying for 'square root of infinity'.

Infinity has no square root, because it's not a number, it's a concept.
No matter how big a number you have, if you square it you end up with a bigger number
(assuming the number is bigger than 1), but that number will always be less than infinity.
Let's face it, everything is less than infinity.

...but what is the square root of Donna ?
Maybe, since Donna is not a square, we need a round root, or a root of indeterminate dimensions...

Alan, yes the square root of infinity does not exist and so...
is NOTHING.
You forgot where you were for a moment me thinks.

Tommy of course.
Maybe, since Donna is not a square, we need a round root, or a root of indeterminate dimensions...
If she's not square then she's HIP.
Hip Hip Hooray for Miss Donna

Speaking of "square"....
Excerpts from the Verlon Thompson song; "I Was A Square"
.....you see, I was a square when you were around..... I wasn't cool, I was acting a fool when you were around.....And it just isn't fair, now that I'm not a square but you're not around.

If I remember my math correctly, the square root of infinity is -infinity (negative infinity).
To paraphrase Loretta: "I was nothing when nothing wasn't cool."

...then if you do this
(-infinity)+ (infinity)=0
Inifinity is the only number where if you add it's square root....
...you're left with nothing
nothing

So Richard,
you are saying we are now back to square none?
In no time at all.

David,
The swinging pendulum will lose momentum until it finally comes to rest. At that point it is doing nothing.

It's doing nothing now. Some of us just want to believe otherwise.
