True, Alan.

But not in a "nothing" type of way. :)

If that makes sense... :?:

somewhat incidental to the humor section.

Know nothing movement

The Know Nothing movement was a nativist American political movement of the 1850s. It was empowered by popular fears that the country was being overwhelmed by Irish Catholic immigrants, who were often regarded as hostile to US values and controlled by the Pope in Rome. Mainly active from 1854–56, it strove to curb immigration and naturalization, though its efforts met with little success. There were few prominent leaders, and the largely middle-class and entirely Protestant membership fragmented over the issue of slavery. Most ended up joining the Republican Party by the time of the 1860 presidential election.

The movement originated in New York in 1843 as the American Republican Party. It spread to other states as the Native American Party and became a national party in 1845. In 1855 it renamed itself the American Party. The origin of the "Know Nothing" term was in the semi-secret organization of the party. When a member was asked about its activities, he was supposed to reply, "I know nothing."

Which just goes to show, nothing in politics has changed...

From a piece of writing I just found in a book:

"There is a place__so dark not even light can escape; so deep it is, creation, the void from which everything comes; so great that nothing touches there, yet it is what touches everything.

Being empty and containing everything, it is so dense that it periodically collapses under its own weight, to reform, retaining its essential nature, which is... nothing.

There are places where nothing is so great that new universes are spewed out the other side, which can't be seen since no light can escape, yet it is happening still.

Only faith can see through the nothing to the creation and beyond, because light is time, and time, light.

There is nothing nothing can't penetrate.
It is the mother of all beings.
Without it, your electrons would collide.
Through it, your brain is connected to your hand;
it is the medium for thought."
nothing nothing
I claim the nothing prize.
And if you don't like this, I'll bring on the Vogon poetry.

gawd its embarassing to read that I've been working on nothing for several years
