Congratulations Brother Steve and welcome to the Fraternity! I hope you'll be active in your Lodge and maybe go through the chairs. It's an experience you'll never forget and you'll be better for it. Have a great day.

Past Master of Warfield Lodge 882, Warfield Kentucky. Joined Teikoku Lodge No.19 Grand Lodge of Japan on April 13, 1970, and was raised to the Sublime degree of master mason on May 25, 1970, six weeks later while stationed on the Island of Okinawa. The Grand Lodge of Japan did not go by the time between degrees, but proficiency. Passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on monday, returned proficiency on friday, and was raised to Master Mason on Monday. One week as a Fellowcraft. After retiring from the Navy in 1977, and went to work in the Coal Mines in Kentucky I demitted from my home lodge on Okinawa and joined the Warfield Lodge where a lot of the men I worked with attended. I live in W.Va just across the river from Warfield. Masonry does not make good men, it makes better men out of good men. Probably the oldest, and the best fraterity in the world. I have always been proud to be a Mason, and had the pleasure of raising my son to Master Mason.
[This message was edited by Harold Williamson on 11 March 2005 at 02:57 PM.]

Although I am not personally a mason, my father, who recently passed away was a masters mason.
I cannot express how meaningful the masonic prayer ceremony that was performed during his funeral celebration of life added to that service. I have nothing but respect for that organization and its members.

From what I have read from the Grand Lodge of Ohio, I believe it is ok. Ohio is having a one day class this year where all three degrees are conferred in the same day, with no memory work. I am not to for sure I like this idea,as I went through the old fashioned way,and got alot out of it.BTW...I am on my Journey to the East,as I am senior steward of Ralph R. Rickley Lodge #670.
