Mornington Crescent...Ouch. I think I get it.
It's a game. Someone says mornington Crescent and someone else hits them on the head with a newspaper. I swear I'm not making this up. At least I think I'm not
Shame about the third string . Ian, I used to go to school up the road from Kenton.

This is a very weird thread.

What do you mean, Jody?
Hey, you guys! Is the 'Plough' still there in Kenton? I used to play steel in that pub and, if my memory serves me, I NEVER broke a '3rd' string while on that gig; this may be the missing link, 'Earnest'...

Or, perhaps it's Audrey Faaahrber? Or Betty Jo Bialonski?
Does this ring a bell to anyone????

Steve -
Put down that pickle!

I use a .10 on all ten strings and tune them all to E. If you don't MASH any pedals, it's dang near impossible to play a bad note.

Roy, Are you out of tune if the band is in Eb?

All but Steve have apparently come in out of the cornstarch and are drying their mukluks by the fire.
(I assume, Earnest, that this thread had helped immeasurably with your third string problem.)<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Chris Bauer on 30 November 2002 at 07:00 PM.]</p></FONT>

Earnest-
A point well taken! And, of course, if there WAS a problem, who'd really want to talk about third string problems when one already has to deal with both the starting problems and the second string wannabes behind them.

Mornington Crescent is a game as part of the show "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" on BBC Radio 4. You'd have to get the rule book to fully miss the point B-). There are no rules, it's just managed stupidity, and quite hilarious.
Yes, the Plough is still in Kenton. It was recently refurbished, and now hosts such musical delights as "quiz nite" and "karaoke". Yuck. Thanks to stupid British music licensing laws.
Steve - where did you go to school?
And, just to keep this thread properly on track...
Wibble. Fnarr. Bonk.

Ian I went to school in Queensbury (no sniggering at the back) When I wemt there it was called Downer County Grammar School (I said no sniggering at the back) It changed it's name when it went comprehensive. So it would be the dchool formerly known as Downer County.
I'd like to keepo the thread on track but I think it's to late for that. A spent thread?

The string bends when I tighten it.

Hmm... that's interesting... I've noticed that on my regular 6-string guitar, the string tightens when I bend it...
Could there be a correlation here?

Could we please stay On Topic here?

<SMALL>When did Anna Nicole Smith start bending her strings?</SMALL>
She got a bad rep as a goldigger, when the fact of the matter was, the old man was just giving himself a "going away" present.
