We had an outstanding get together last night. There was a large group of great musicians and everyone had a great time playing and singing. We had a few new players,Dom Franco played a lap steel that he had built, and Bryan Daste tried out my ZB for the night. We had great vocals and guitar accompaniment from Zach Driscoll, and some great harmony vocals and accompaniment from Shannon. Many thanks to all who attended, and hope to see everyone again next time. The next meeting will be on June 12 at 7 PM.Hope to see everyone then.

This week's jam was yet another unbelievable success. I am not sure if it could possibly be any better! We had two excellent guitar players, a great bass player, and three professional singers. Mix that together with six great steel guitar players and you can make a lot of great music. Those of you who couldn't make this one missed one of the best that could ever be. We played all songs to live music, a good time was had by all.

Great photo's but.........

WHO were the personalities that were photographed?

Pix without 'names' creates nothing but mystery.

How 'bout some names?

Last night, the wife and I made the looooong trek northward to the bustling community of Goble, Oregon, located on the western banks of the mighty Columbia River.....somewhere near where JB Cooper made his memorable drop out of a Boeing 727 airliner into America's imagination some years ago.

We wandered in from the ample paved parking area to the GOBLE TAVERN that is situated on the west shoulder of Highway 30 in the center of the thriving metropolis and had a most pleasant evening 7-9 PM....listening to and chatting with Shannon, Storm and Josh. They also had a really fine percusionist, and regretably I failed to get his name. The four musicians were all neat and clean, nicely combed hair, freshly pressed attire complete with smiley faces. What a visual pleasure this in itself proved to be.

They played 'old' country all evening, not too loud or too soft, but jes' right! Their harmonies were really tight and most pleasant to listen to.

I've driven past this tavern for 50 years and never once had the inclination to drop in. It's really nice and clean inside, great food, friendly homey type people, a fabulous picknic area out back.....and NO COVER CHARGE at the door. That's really nice.

You're really missing a special treat if you fail to
give them a Wednesday night visit at the GOBLE TAVERN. The band is known as the RUBY FALLS congregation..........

Just a reminder to everyone, Tuesday July 10 is the next get together hope to see everyone then. The last 2 times we have had enough players to play with live music. I have made some more room to accommodate the extra players, and added an electronic drum set, hope we can get enough players to make it work like a band again.

goodtimes

Did BOB really have maple bars, donuts and other treats or was he attempting to mislead this elderly retiree?
