Bigger and Better

Sure will be good to see all our friends from Louisiana. Want them to be on our summer show at the St. Martin Comm. Center.
Winston Street informs me that he will have his top knotch band on stage with him and I will get to hear Julie Musgrove again, and again and again. With her will be Glen Musgrove and Brian Drew and Winston on his either right or left handed pedal steel. Julie's voice is one of the best in the business and she has nudged Dottie West out of my favorite lady singer's spot.
The players schedule is almost complete. Sure do like the complete bands we will have too.
Bob Saxton is chomping at the bits and is getting along very good after his surgery.
Miss Cayla will steal everyone's hearts over and over. She has a special presentation to honor our country, service personnel and veterans plus her Miss Mini Minnie Pearl character. Cayla will have a display table where she will accept donations for the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation. (And if necessary , I will put on my navy Chief's uniform and gently(?) ask all in the house to visit her table). Probably will not be necessary with the wonderful and caring friends in our org.though.
Anxious to hear Gary Miles and his group too. Watch for the schedule soon.

by Bill Stafford
HI Shorty, ole Barney Miller will be here also. Bet you know him too. Wish you could be here . We all enjoy Jack and Martha so much.
Here is our line up for the Sat. show. Start time at 11:00 AM and might have to move it up to start at 10:00 AM due to all the interest. 30 min programs for each - starting with Hank Corwin, Big Will Stewart, Jack & Martha Goodson, Barney Miller, Romeo Sullivan (DJ Hall of Fame and great vocalist-Romeo will have his choice of steel players), Gary Miles and his Smoke City Band, Buck Grantham, Billy Carr, Royce Tarver, Ellis Olsen, Cayla Ann Kelton & Bill Stafford, Herby Wallace, Ronnie Miley with Hank Corwin, Gordon Dodson and his 11 year old niece on her pedal steel, Mitsuo Fujii from Tokyo-EXCEL builder, Steve Sanford, Dewitt Scott, Ivan Reddington, R.J. Buras, Bert Courrege, Tony Lane(George Morgan steel player), Winston Street and his great band(Winston plays steel either right or left handed), Joe Rogers, Jim Parker and Doc Rickles and Little Joe and his super band. Hopefully Jerry Jaye will be able to grace our stage too. Ben O'Dell, Wayne Goff, Bob Saxton (Chet Atkins Hall of Fame Thumb picker member) and Ed Clark who plays his doublebass like no other on this earth. (When Wade Ray heard Ed sing on my program in St. Louis, he asked me "...where did you find him?" Such a great compliment for a very talented musician and friend. And topping all this off will be none other than the best there is on piano is ROY ROSETTA! Such an honor to have all these wonderful musicians and friends. And we cannot leave MS LANA ROSELLI out of this mix. She and Romeo will share the MC duties along with Ben O'Dell. Hope I did not leave any one out.
I am on a new computer and a lot of my data was lost in the change over. See you all soon.

Hopefully Little Joeallen Ward will be able to be here with his group also. Waiting for confirmation on this as it depends on his work schedule.
Also, we will have a slot for a very fine Classical Guitarist, Scott Perro, from the New Orleans area. Scott is also talented on piano, and other instruments. Not a dull moment going on here. Thanks again for this overwhelming support.

BEN & GUMBO ????

by Ben ODell
Hey Tommy,,,,,,,,

Ole Benji ain't the gumbo man,,,,,,that's R.J. He's tha man what puts that good stuff together. I sho-nuff know how to put it away though.

Talkin bout put'in it away,,,, I've been thinkin bout cookin up this big ole caldrin of "COLLARD GREENS" and about 5 or 6 pones of cornbread, and a sack full of fresh green onions, and the fishcooker (to keep-um hot), down to the show. Reckon I could drum up some intrest???? I'd hate to see-um not be "EEET. I know Uncle Buck would jump in that pot.

LORD HELP US, if the weather holds and I can fire that smoker off. "BOSTON BUTT" AL-A-CARTE.

Just got word a bunch of folks will be with us from Baton Rouge, for the show. And we hope to brang a crowd from Agricola, Mississippi with us.

Got that purty, new, "RED" cable from Bryan Adams, and if you need new wars, that's the man to talk to.

Your right Billy in all respects about Mr Ed. He is my all time HERO, and there's none better. I'm gonna try to get him to strap on my "P" and really show out. And the "CHIEF'S" uniform would make my day. I want to see how far up the sleeve them strips go. They should be all the way to your shoulder.

Looking forward to sumpin sho-nuff good down there on the 21th. Ya'll load-um up and brang-um on.

SEE YOU THERE !!!!!!!!!

Thanks Shorty and R.J. Lets not forget about our Friday Nite Frolic. Starting at 7PM at the VFW. Had to move this fun night there due to not enough room in my music room. A very informal night of playing as we wish....

Show Start Time

by Bill Stafford
Our start time will be at 10:00 AM. I wanted to have as many play as possible. Hank Corwin, Corky Tittle, Roy Rosetta, Wayne Goff and a bass player friend of Hank and Corky will get us off to a proper start with OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM. Hank will then finish his first 30 min program. Later in the afternoon Hank will team up with Ronnie Miley to amaze us all the way it is supposed to be. No better players anywhere and all here in Gulfport, Mississippi very soon.
Friday Nite Frolic is shaping up to be a good informal "Play-in".
It will be so good to see Carl Dixon in house too.

Hey everyone,

Looks like all my rowdy friends are going to be gathered in one spot in my old home state. Some of you guys I haven’t had the pleasure of gabbing with and listening to for quite awhile. Laurie and I would sure like to be there, but grand-baby-sitting has to take priority while the mommy works and until the daddy gets back from Afghanistan.

Would someone please play “Tennessee Waltz” for me?

We hope to see you guys in St. Louis.
