There is ample Top 40 for the undiscerning masses, however there are some fine traditional country and western swing bands carrying the torch in the Denver area. Unfortunately mine are booked for private gigs this weekend. I see Holden Wofford is playing a private event in Estes on the 13th. Maybe you'll run into them. Brett Billings will be playing my old T8 Stringmaster. http://www.hibeams.com/cal.cfm Can't seem to find where Dick Meis is playing.

Paddy: I play pedal steel with the Dick Frost Band. On Sept. 1st, we'll be at The Wild Horse Saloon, in Kiowa, CO. It's about 35 miles from Denver, so it may be to far to drive for you. We play classic country. We'll be there from 8PM to midnight. Check out our website at www.dickfrost.com. If you're interested, I can get you driving directions. It's just southeast of the Denver metro area. Good luck with the elk hunting!

I'll be playing with the Dalhart Imperials at the Skylark Lounge in Denver on Sept 1. Western swing, and old school honky tonk originals and covers. This will be our final show after thirteen years together. Link to the Skylark Lounge (very cool bar!): http://www.skylarklounge.com/index.php

Forewarned: I play a 1958 Fender 1000 through a Twin with a D130F. There's nothing modern about what we do! By the way, the Dick Frost Band is an excellent true country music outfit, too, and Gary is a top notch player (what a collection!).

Thanks for the kind words, Tim. Sorry to hear that it's your final show after all those years. I still recall the many times I was able to get down to the old Denver Barn Dance shows, and see/hear your band! Great music! Let us know what your plans are. After all, you can't quit 'steelin'.
