1968 Scranton ZB D-10
I have a 1968 red and maple ZB Custom D10 with 7 pedals and 3 knee levers. It was built for Hall of Fame member Bobby Garrett by Zane Beck himself. It has that wonderful ZB tone. Action is smooth. Guitar has some wear between the necks but otherwise it's a very clean steel. It's 68 model, one of the 170 guitars built by Zane Beck himself, his signature is on the necks. This guitar was played by Bobby Garrett on some of the Hank Thompson recordings. I spent a few hours cleaning and polishing the wood and chrome and it look really nice. The original hard shell case is included. I'm looking to get 2000. or best offer. Thank you.

Joe, I have the sister guitar to that 68. #1107. It was the same color pattern, but mine looked like it went through both world wars when I got mine and I refinished it. Yours looks in practically new condition. Thats a heck of a ZB.

Hey Mike,Mike Neer wrote:Joe, can you tell me what the orientation of the pedals and knees are? I don't really have any experience with the pedal steel, but this is really calling my name.

Here we go... The set up is A&B pedals standard Emmons set-up, raise and lower your "E's" on your left knee and right-knee-right raises your 4th straing to F#. The C6 neck is standard set-up. I hope that helps, thanks, Joe

Joe; I don't understand the serial # of some ZB steels & what some one says are different build dates. I have a D10,8&2 that Zane built for me the same color as yours, except I have white fret boards & white necks. I ordered it through Ted Solesky in Jan. or Feb of 1968, & Ted picked it up at the airport in Harrisburg Pa in August of 1968. The serial # is 1068. Kevin Hatton just added 2 knee levers & made me a two piece case with wheels on, which is great when I have to transport it. It still looks almost like new, & I have not refinished it, just a lot of TLC. It has "That ZB sound". Harry, York Pa.
