Yeah, I like them lacquer guitars too. Here's my restored '75 Emmons. Dick Miller refinished the cabinet just before he died, Mike Cass handled getting the aluminum parts buffed, and yours truly made the additional knee levers, and did the assembly and setup.

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, as well as some older MSAs, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Recently added a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored blue Rose, named the "Blue Bird" to the herd. Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks.

And the "AWARD" goes to...
It's just my personal opinion but, having looked at some pretty amazing steels on this thread, I rechecked every page and have decided on the "Best looking steel here.
And the winner is...drum roll, Stu's green Desert Rose!!
It's on the first page of this thread and deserves another look...KUDO'S to Chuck Back for building such an outstanding steel, Chuck, you are "DA MAN!"

Darvin's black lacquer Emmons (on this page) is in the running as well. And, of course, James Morehead's Professional.

The D-10 I've had since 1983 and the S-10 since 2004. I have a new steel on order and will show it off in a few months.
1978 S-10 - Found this from the original owner where it sat in the case over 20 years untouched. He practiced on it for nearly 2 years and put it away. Once it was cleaned up, it looked and played like a new guitar. I think this is one of the best Emmons tone I have owned and is my gig guitar now:
1974 D-10 - Original color was Blue and has faded to this... still nice. I've retired this guitar and will someday have it restored to original factory condition as it was my first pro steel. It has made me a lot of weekend gig money over the last 24 years:

Here's a fresh picture of my new Mullen. I've had it for a few days now, and got to try it on my gigs over the weekend. It sounds just as good as it looks! I think I'll be keeping this one for a long, long time!
