I have a Sierra Artist S-10 3+2. This is the one with the aluminum body. I'd like to add a couple more knees to it.
I looked on the Sierra site and the kit for adding additional knees is not mentioned on the site. Does anyone know much about the guitar? I know it was sold as a beginners guitar but I like it as it is very light weight and put together well.
It stays in tune and one of the only weakness' is the pedal rods don't clip on at the top instead they simply have a hook that falls out or gets stuck once in a while. Until I can ge some bills paid down this one is gonna have to do for now. |

Tom could probably fix you up with the parts you need to add knee levers. I suppose all you'd really need is...
crossbar
knee lever (connected to crossbar)
pullrods
bellcrank for each pullrod
Seems like bellcranks for Sierra guitars were about $8 each a couple of years ago. I doubt they've gone up much.
You could probably make the stuff yourself if you have the right tools. _________________ Gary Shepherd

Joe, I think you need to find a local steel guitar mechanic to do the job right, the first time. |

I have a Sierra Artist, its a D-10 and the E9th neck is 3x5. I agree good advice is to call Tom to see if he has the parts. Years ago I think he had plenty of knee level kits. Some of the Artist parts (model discounted) might be getting in short supply, like some of the reversing levels that go with certain knees. 3 x 2 seems a little odd, I thought the guitar came standard with 3 x 4. I'm guessing if the some of the parts are not available, they might be fairly straight forward to make. |

Tom sold me the right knee lever kit for my Sierra Artist a few years ago. Pretty easy to bolt on. Came assembled and mounted on plywood (save for the rods, of course). I may be wrong but I think back then it cost me $269. Tom even made me an "emergency parts kit" including the little cotter pins and such. _________________ TerryGannAOneManBand
