what a great show! it's been 5 or 6 years since i've seen junior, and he's only gotten better. he played miles davis' "four" in the middle of "i hung it up". wow! junior seems to be getting a little jazzier.
it was just junior, a bass player, and drummer (both were fantastc). so my question is; what happened to tanya? i was really impressed with his ability to stay on pitch while singing and playing the steel without the backup guitar. a real master- steel, guitar, and singing. |

I've seen Junior about 4 or 5 times now and he's always put on an excellent show. I'm just amazed at how he can sing and switch between the two necks on his "guitsteel" without missin a lick. |

I have one of his cd's and listen to his selections on You Tube! Any one know who made his steel/guitar combo? |

John R-which guit-steel was he using?-last I saw Junior he was using "Big Red" mostly with the Bigsby necked guit-steel made for him by my partner Dave Peterson as a backup-'Ol Yeller was lent to the Country Music HOF-Michael J-I am quite surprised that Stevens is offering to make guit-steels on his website-last I spoke to Junior he had issues about anyone making an instrument of the type especially if called "guit-steel" which is a name he was intending to copyright as a trademark-apparently he must have ironed out the name licenseing with Stevens [This message was edited by PAUL WARNIK on 22 October 2006 at 04:00 AM.] |

My nephew, Justin Amaral is a drummer living in nashville and playing some gigs with Junior Brown. I have several pictures but do not know how to post them. |

paul-
i think he was playing his original guit-steel. it was natural finished, and the guitar side had three fender-sized pickups with no pole pieces visable. |

Hey and only $9500!! I think one of those, a Franklin Ped-a-bro, and an Anapeg, and I'll be all set. I wonder how many he will sell at that price?
Strange, I bet if they were about half that, he'd probably sell a few to some of us who double on guitar. |
