wtb: 1501-4 (shallow) replacement basket

Post by Matt Henschel »

Bought a 1502-4 from someone here a few months ago-- the thing has cone cry something horrible. Haven't been able to diagnose the cause... Either way, I'd like to try a 1501-4, shallow preferred, if anyone has a clean replacement basket available. I am correct in assuming the magnet should fit any of the 15" BW's, right?

Thanks!

BW's

Matt, I think it depends on the era of production as to whether or not the baskets interchange. The older Spider Web graphic units [from the 70's, early 80's] won't usually interchange with the newer ones.

In other words, BW's in all sizes and from the same era will interchange on magnets from the same era, but problems occur if you mix components from different eras. Note the pics below:

As always, I defer to resident Peavey representative Mike Brown.

I have a new, never installed 1501-4 SB basket that will fit modern units to sell if you are interested. I have one of the older spider web units complete whole speaker unit as well. I'm sending you email re: above.
