Thanks, Charles for changing my file.... I hope the forum members read this....
There is an active thread titled "1960 sound". I hope some of the players can hear some of that sound on this recording of "Greensleeves".
I cut it with my old 1962 Fender 400 cable rig. I have hung on to this guitar for 40 plus years. I purchased it new in 62.
I hope everyone enjoys !!!!!

Excellent job Moon....really sounds great. I use to own one of the Fender 1000s back in the seventies....I traded it off but now I wish I still had it. It also had the cable system. John McGlothlin

It's still fun to sit down and play these old guitars !! LOL. I play my Carter S10 everyday, so when I play the Fender I stumble around on the 8 string for a couple of songs !!

Thanks, Al for the kind words.....Yes, those old Fender cable rigs are still good and a lot of fun to play.
I log in to Charles' music site every day and check on any new files. I have played every single file on his site !! LOL

Moon, a great job on Greensleeves; sounds fabulous on your Fender 400; I love the sound of those 400's; one was my 2nd. pedal steel back in the 60's. Thanks for allowing us to hear you play..

Thanks for the nice comment!! When I was a Kid playing and my Dad was playing his Martin,If I wandered away from the Melody he would say "Vern, I am going to quit if you keep playing that junk".
We spent many happy hours together.
After I was married and doing Live TV,Radio,tours and he found out I was coming home for a few days.he would gather his friends for a big session.
The good ole days.

I downloaded some songs from Tilley's website. It takes me almost a half hour to do it on one song on my ISP. Thanks again Charles for putting all this on.

Jerry Gleason-"The common touch." Very nice chord and jazz solos on the S12 Universal guitar.

John McGlothin-"Dont let me cross over",better check it out , no steel on it.

Vernon Hester-"aloha Oe" nice smooth , brought me back to Hawaii Islands.

Chuck Lettes-"Easy Livin", very good , sounded to me like good non-pedal steel. Am I right?

All in all, lots of good steelin on Charley's Website. And so many different styles. Interesting...al.

Al, about all I hear is steel on this song. Wonder why you don't.
John does a fine job. The Dobro adds a bit too. Wonder if it is a Dobro or simulator.

Howdy Folks Howdy....Thanks for the coment on my song....the dobro guitar I am using is a Johnson square neck resonator guitar I bought about a year and a half ago brand new for only $225.00. It is a copy of the original Uncle Josh model of the Dobro. Al, about not hearing any steel on the song....my sound card driver had to be updated on my computer since then and that might have been a problem and I have been experimenting with a recording software called Guitar Tracks Pro which is a 32 track recorder. I checked on the website and the song plays fine.
