This tune featuring Joaquino is called "I Can't Wait That Long". The interesting thing about his playing on this side is that his solo is chordal one, but using his oft-talked about tuning of C6 with a high B string in the lowest string position (G E C A G E C B). At least that's what my ears are telling me it is. Listen closely to the harmonics at the end of his break.

Go to Myspace and click on Joaquin Murphey in the music player. Love to hear your thoughts on it.

Thanks for posting these Mike. I usually also get to hear "Every Little Raindrop" along the way, too. It's one of my favorite tunes these days. According to Andy Volk's book Mr. Murphey's C6 was GECAGEC#B. But it's awful easy to retune one string a halfstep in between tunes. Maybe you're right.

Ron, geez, I don't know. They're definitely there. Have you tried cleaning your cache? That might be it. It's always the last file (at the bottom) on the player.

Ron,
Try clicking on the button that says "Standalone Player" in the section where the songs are. It'll open a new player in a new window which will list all the songs. I experienced the same thing and this fixed it...hope this helps.

Thanks for posting these Mike! I'm getting to hear tunes I'd probably never get my hands on.

I'm amazed when someone can play like that, I need pedals to do it. Beautiful, and Mike you're doing some really nice reso stuff on that site. Thanks for posting it.
