Rally Fast Computer - $400 shipped

Post by Gary Shepherd »

I've just done my yearly computer upgrade/rebuild and I'd like to sell last year's computer for $400 shipped. If you haven't bought a new computer in a couple of years or if you always buy the Wal-Mart, Dell, etc. computers, I can guarantee that my "old" one be faster/beter than what you're using now.

Here are the main parts...
* Antec Screwless Case with front USB
* Plextor PX 708A CD/DVD player/burner
* 4 GB of PC3200 DDR RAM
* AMD Athlon X2 64 bit 3600 2.4GHz CPU (it's really fast)
* Gigabyte K8 Triton Motherboard
* Jaton 3D AGP Dual video card with 128 MB (or Matrox G450 dual video card)
* Maxtor 200GB (or bigger) hard drive

I can also install a fresh copy of Windows XP pro if you need it. I'll reformat the hard drive, install a fresh copy of Windows XP Pro, make backups of it, and include the software you'll need to reinstall the backup if there's ever a problem (like a virus).

I'll include the OpenOffice suite which is nearly an exact copy of Microsoft Office. I quite using the Microsoft Office at least 3 years ago. Been using OpenOffice ever since. It reads and writes any file that Microsoft Office will and even a few more - but without all the Microsoft hassles. Check http://www.openoffice.org for details

If you need other options or software, I'm sure we can work out something if I have it.

Be advised that this is an up-to-date machine. But I like to update as far as I can (with the money I have) about once every year. I've been using this machine here in my recording studio as my main machine for about a year now. This is a nice machine.

Jim, I hope you didn't spend too much. What did you get and how much was it? Someone here may be interested in comparing prices for a new one vs. mine.

From a small hill in Oklahoma, it seems pretty obvious that you should choose mine.
