I know that LDG`s come with round or sqare front and I had owned both but didn`t really noticed any difference in tone,they all sounded amazing to me.

The S10 that came from the factory with 6 pedals - and listed as having no KL's - was known as a 6140.
I'm not certain that they used that designation during the Baldwin years, but I know they did post-Baldwin.

My shobud S10 has the square front with six pedals and two knee levers; it also has the hearts, spades and diamonds in the middle of the front apron. I’m wondering if mine could also be a 6140

i wasn't aware that SB still made a S10 with 6 pedals after they switched to the square front, but they were always making slightly different versions of their model line, as well as custom orders.
So I guess, yeah, sure, it could be a 6140, or maybe it's a 6139 with 3 more pedals. Then again, according to the catalogs, 6139's came with one KL and 6140's came with none.

Whatever it is, I'll bet it's a nice gtr....

Skip it might be that another owner might have added the other knee lever,the only pedals i use on this guitar is the A,B,and C pedals because i never knew what to tune those pedals to. The 2nd pedal from the keyhead is somehow hooked in with the left knee lever
maybe at one time it was used for a half stop could that be possible?

Yeah, it never seemed to make sense to me either....why SB would offer a S10/E9 gtr with 6 pedals and 0 KL's. You would kinda think it was intended to be used for another tuning - C6 or even a 10 string version of B6 like Sneaky used to play.
So...the 2nd pedal (B pedal?) is hooked to the left KL?
What's that lever doing? You'll have to give more info on the setup...

Tom-Those little S10 Sho-Buds are getting to be collectors guitars.I bought one from the original owner with 3 pedals and 2 knee levers. I got parts from John Coop and other parts and had my Good Friend, Fred Welch,add 3 pedals and 3 knee levers to make it 6 and 5. And set it up to my E6 "Lean and Mean" Tuning.
I wouldn't sell this guitar. It has the 2 hole pullers and the barrell tuners. I can get 6 raises on one pull rod if I want. It also has the coil tap in the endplate. And the weight is 32 lbs out of the case.

When you think of pricing one of these guitars, remember that when you COMPARE a new Mica guitar with 3/5 at $1995.and YOURS with the 4 knee levers added,, you stil have a BARGAIN. Why? First of all , you have a beauifull Lacquer Wood Birdseye Maple wood body which cost $1000. extra on a new one. Also they don't make them anymore like that , and they have the Famous Sho-bud tone. So The average price of $1300. and add $400 for 4 more knee levers, makes $1700. Which is still a bargain and going up in price all the time.....my 2 cents today.....al.

I'm with Brother Al--best deal going. AND you have a vintage guitar with the modern undercarrage that will take you another 40 years down the road, if'n you use Coop parts, that is. History in your hands, and vintage tone. Whats cooler than that???

I'm now the proud owner of this beautiful little 6139, and have already been on the phone to John Coop to update the undercarriage and make it 3/4. I'm way excited about getting it back modernized!

I have a 6140, and it has 3-pedals and 4-knees. I'm the second owner, so I assume the guy who had it before me, is the one who had it "customized." It was the guitar I started on, and I still play it with the "contemporary choir" at my church 3 Sundays a month, from Sep. to May. It has a sweet sound, and people seem to like it. I almost sold it a few years ago, and I'm so glad I didn't do it, I'd be kicking myself now, if I had.

Interesting. I wonder, did it start out with 6 pedals?
It wouldn't surprise me. Nothing surprises me anymore with these old Buds. I almost sold mine awhile ago, and I'm also glad I hung on to it. They're sweet little gtrs...

Baldwin era. 6 pedals - one knee. Rack & barrel. Got it for $600 on eBay a year or so ago, re-chromed the legs, polished all the metal parts, disassembled. cleaned and set it up with help from Ricky.

I love it.
