Someone suggested that I should make a youtube clip comparing my different tone bars. So, yesterday I did this clip, featuring the following tone bars:

Broz-o-Phonic
3/4" x 2 15/16" approx.
Stainless steel.

Diamond Bottlenecks
"Bob Brozman Signature"
15/16" x 3" approx., and

"El Gordo" custom
1 1/8" x 2 7/16" approx.
Both lead crystal.

Boyett Glass Bar
7/8" x 3" approx.
Leaded glass

Tribo-Tone™
A Weight,
B Weight
both 3/4" x 3" approx., and
I-style
5/8" x 2 7/8" approx.
All three engineering plastic with a non-lead metal base.

As you know, I haven't been playing steel for very long, so I please disregard my playing if it isn't the most suitable way to showcase a tone bar, but at least here you have seven tone bars, playing the same piece of music, recorded through the same microphone setup (two condenser mics - an SE2200A and an AKG mic).

I also thought I might try to use this poll funtion - which of the above tone bars sounds best to your ears? Smile

Cheers,

Fred

And here is part II - a closer look/listen at the Diamond Bottlenecks "El Gordo" and Tribo-Tone "B Weight":

Also, I forgot to mention - the guitar I play is my Lazy River spruce/walnut Weissenborn.
