One of my gear replacement considerations is to have another Industrial Guitars Indy Rail (8-string with Lollar Stringmaster pickups) built and connected to my current Rail. The physical connection is easy and non-permanent as there are hex-nuts on the bottom of the Rails and two flat strips of metal could be fastened to them. However, I'm wondering how to connect the two electrically with some sort of toggle switch. I'd like to have "front on/back on/both on" options. Is there a compact Y-splitter that could be installed in the new neck and I could just patch the old neck into it?

Any ideas?

It wouldn't be difficult at all, if the guy (I forget his name) is willing to custom build this for you. My visualisation has it thusly:

--an input jack on the custom guitar to take a patch cable from the first guitar

--an output jack on the custom guitar to carry the final signal to the amp, whether it is a combined signal of two guitars or just the output of the custom guitar, if you un-siamese the two guitars

--a Tele type switch built into the custom guitar to give you the three options you seek.

Electrically, very simple to wire and it would leave both guitars perfectly functional as stand-alones.

That's exactly what I want, just didn't know if it was possible to have the "unsiamese" option if I wanted to disconnect them for any reason.

Thanks.

Single controls. Some players prefer .047 tone caps and others say it makes little difference.

I think I'd be more inclined to run an A-B stomp box on the floor.
That way you could switch necks no hands and each could be stock.
Only issue would be two wires running to the stomp box but they could be fairly short and tied together neatly with wire ties.

Mark, I've thought of this and leave it open as an option. It would need to be an AB/Y box with lights to indicate what's on or off.
