I can't help but wonder when someone's going to produce a multi-effects pedal that includes models of a number of different steel guitar amps and speaker cabinets. Also would include a dozen or so models of different steel manufacturers.
There are many out there for every other type of guitar/amp configurations.

Check out the POD XT preamp. That is what I am using ever since I sold you the Peavey 1000. It has very cool controls over speaker cabinets and amps. I bought mine from Tommy Dodd. He had some presets in it that are totally cool. It also has a usb connection so you can save your presets to a computer and download others from Line 6.
By the way I'll bet its hot in Tucson these days.

Thanks for the info Ron, and yes it's a little warm here...but it's a dry heat, or it was up until yesterday. Now it's a humid heat, but dropping to a cool one hundred degrees tomorrow!
I just got a Digitech RP150 to try out this weekend and that's what got me thinking. I'd love to see a drop-down menu that would give all the various models of all the steel guitars made......
They do it for pianos, organs, guitars, bass guitars, etc., etc., etc.
I'll check out the Pod stuff...the RP150 was $99. _________________ Always remember you're unique..... Just like everyone else |

Steve - Once you've come up with some steel presets on the RP-150, shoot me an email and we can swap settings. I really like mine. I'm just using the reverbs, delays, and chorus, no models.

Lee,
Sounds like a plan. I'm doing the same thing (not concerned with the modeling features yet) and got into the EQ a little also. I downloaded the software and have the laptop plugged in for editting.
Will be driving the wife crazy for the rest of the weekend, and will contact you with the results soon! _________________ Always remember you're unique..... Just like everyone else |

If you have the unit plugged into the laptop and your amp, be sure to turn the volume down on the amp when you save the changes. It will make a very loud noise if the amp is turned up. |

Lee,
Using the software interface:
In the "Delay box", at the bottom is a pull-down for "audio setup". This is the USB audio. Turn both controls fully counter-clockwise (off) and you won't have to worry about soiling your shorts unexpectedly.......
I've got about 20 simple presets stored so far and will by ready to send the file tomorrow perhaps. _________________ Always remember you're unique..... Just like everyone else |

A nice idea, maybe. But...99% of the players out there have only one tone that they're interested in! I have yet to hear a steeler's record or CD where he changes his tone from one song to another. |
