MSA Millenium Gone Missing
Hi Everyone. Just to let you all know that my MSA Millenium M3 has went missing from either Glasgow or Heathrow Airports.
It is an S10 and is a chameleon blue black in colour.
It went missing on the way to Norway to do some gigs with Heather Myles.
It may just be in the pile of cases at Heathrow, but if anyone sees or hears of it on Ebay, can you let me know.
It is in a black and silver wheeled flight case.
Thanks Guys

How can an airline misplace something as large as a steel?
Here's hoping you get it back quickly and safely.

Stay Positive!
The airlines have lost my Steel twice (once in Chicago, once in DC).
Each time they were located and delivered it to my door within four days. I hope you're as lucky.
With the heightened terrorist levels in your area, I suspect your problems are only delays, not theft.

Lost steel
Sounds like it might be NWA. They lost mine between Phoenix and Nashville a few years ago and it wound up about a year later in the unclaimed baggage place in Alabama. I never got a dime out of it.

Well , a week has passed and no sign of the steel. I`ve managed to borrow steels for shows throughout Europe for Heather Myles dates, I used a Franklin in Norway, an Emmons in Switzerland and a Zum in England. Luckily I insured my MSA before I went on tour.
I`ve been banging my head against a brick wall so far with no-one seeming willing to help me with regards to retreiving my steel. I do however owe thanks to Larry Rolens of the Bellamy Brothers for use of his steel in Interlaken, Switzerland. And also to Tommy and Billy Murdoch for their use of steels in Norway and England.

I once flew from Oklahoma to Chicago with a $70,000 RCA Television camera which came up missing in Chicago. We borrowed a rig from PBS to finish our shoot, filed an insurance claim when we got back to Oklahoma State University, and figured we would never see the camera again. About two months later, it showed up at our studio. The insurance company had sent some detectives out to find it, rather than pay the $70,000. I don't know if the value of your steel is enough to get the insurance company looking for it, but I would bet they'll investigate some before ponying up for a new MSA. Good luck!

An antique double bass once owned by Stravinsky himself once disappeared on a flight. It eventually turned up at a different airport a month later, where it had stood in its case unattended for weeks. The instrument was worth thousands of dollars and for all that time had been lying there for the taking !
Your MSA is probably sitting in a luggage office somewhere. Do you have identity stickers on the outside and the inside of the case ?
Most lost luggage turns up eventually. Once the airline checks your luggage and puts one of those bar-coded stickers on, no matter where in the world it goes the destination is easily read.
Keep the faith !

Dear Davie,
You are obviously the kind of guy who can reflect, and take a broad view. I'm sure that being caught up in this messy business is very stressful. I wish for you a speedy and satisfactory recovery of your prized instrument. Now upon reflection of my own, I would not hesitate to loan you any of my favorite instruments. You would be most welcome, any time. Best, JW

PHEW!!!! My steel has turned up after 4 weeks! I`m on holiday and I got a call on my cellphone that someone was waiting outside my house with some lost luggage! I havent been home to check it yet to see if it has been damaged, but hopefully all is ok!
Thanks again to all for your support and help! Maybe I`ll buy a slightly less expensive steel to tour with?

There's a lesson here for everybody. Have your name address and phone number painted on your flight case. Other musicians do this all the time.
Dave I'm glad you got your guitar back. If your name and address and phone had been printed on the case, you probably would have gotten it back 2 or 3 weeks ago.
