Been in lots of bands but most unique and
funny name was a band in Vietnam. I was the singer and guitar player and another forum member Jim Florence from OK was the steeler. We called ourselves "Rick Rickles and the Rice Paddy Rangers"
Had Shirts made with a man on a water buffalo with a mask and wearing shower clogs. Turned out to be quite well known in Vietnam. Hadn't thought much about it till I saw this post.

The year indicated is the first year I played with that band and does not indicate when, and if, I stopped playing with them.
I didn’t purchase my first pedal steel guitar until the end of 1993, so in all bands before that, I played guitar, bass, keyboards, or a combination of them. After that point, I played at least some steel in most of the bands indicated, and many of them about 50% or more on pedal steel guitar.
There were three totally different versions of the band “Joy”.
I would estimate that there were another dozen or so one-nighters throughout the years, but I don’t recall the names of the bands.
That would bring the total number of bands to approximately 70.

One of the first bands I played in was named "Captain Hooks Magic Water Show Band". (Sgt. Peppers era)

I still have a business card with the name printed in the fat psychedelic Peter Max letters.

We didn't do drugs, but we sounded like we were trippin'!!
