Pete Drake on the old Starday label. Keep an eye on eBay. Pete's old albums show up there quite regularly.

Stand By Your Man

Post by Corey Woodcock »

I apologize in advance for the newbie question...but who was the steel player on Stand by your Man? I have the CD and the tape, but the steel player is not listed.

If it's the Loretta Lynn version, then it's most likely the late Hal Rugg on steel.

Corey
The steel player on "Stand By Your Man" was Pete Drake with Tammy Wynette on vocal.
