Michigan Steel Guitar Association Steel Show
The Michigan Steel Guitar Association is getting ready for our annual Steel Guitar Show on July 28th and 29th.
The show will be held at the Quality Inn in Houghton Lake, Michigan. For those wishing to stay over night, you can call the hotel directly at: 1-888-781-4888. They have given us a reduced rate for the show of $89.95/double occupancy, and this includes a complimentary hot breakfast. The Quality Inn features a restaurant, bar, indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, game room and many other great features.
This year we will be featuring Mike Sigler, Doug Jernigan, Jim Cohen, and Troy Klontz. We also have a great backup band with Glenn Runnels on fiddle, Danny Crampton on drums, Del Shorts and Bill Ferguson on guitar, and Jaxie Hartman on bass. We will also have many of the areas finest steel players here too coming in from Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana as well as some really great players from Michigan.
The complete play list hasn't been made up yet, but I will publish it as soon as I get the playing schedule all sorted out.
Mike Sigler will also be doing a "question and answer" seminar on Saturday morning. The cost for the seminar is $20.00 per person. We need to request advance registration for the seminar.
There will also be some distrubitors for steel guitars and other related equipment at this event.
For more information please call me at: 989-539-7808, or Marilyn Myers at: 989-366-0005.
There will be a cover charge for this event which is $10.00 per day, or $18.00 for both days.

Hey Danny!
Wish I could be there, but I'm booked those dates.
I've been to several of the Michigan Steel Shows in the past years and they have all been great.
Don't miss it if at all possible.
Mike Sigler is a fine teacher, his seminar will be well worth attending.
It would be worth the price of admission just to see Mike and Doug square off on a speed picking duel.

Thanks for your support guys. It looks like we've got a really great line up of players this year again, and we'll be adding even more.
We always have a great turn out at this show, and we're looking forward to the same again this year. It will be great seeing and hearing all of you again!
Ron, I'll be sure to tell Bill Ferguson you said hello. He's played a lot of gigs with me here locally, and he's a fantastic guitar player for sure. One of the few who really knows how to work with, and compliment the steel guitar.

Lana. I wish you could be here with us too! That would indeed be a great treat for everyone attending for sure! Having Jim Cohen with us this year is a great highlight to this show, and the folks are really happy to see him on the list this year! Jimbeaux is one of the most inovative players of this instrument I've ever known!
We definately have a great line up of players this year, including several from the surrounding states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana, and a great back up band too! I think it's going to be a great turn out this year, and I know everyone is really looking forward to it.

Lana,
You're not kidding about the fans. Two years ago Mike Sigler teamed up with Herby Wallace and it was tough dodging the flying pieces of pick coming from the stage. Not to mention it was a typically hot July day and the A/C was working overtime. But it was a great time and some even greater music.Herby Wallace has an awesome sound and keeps up with "Mr.Speedpicker" pretty darn good.Dan promises a good show and I know he'll deliver.Always a man of his word.

Sure wish I could make it up for the show. Great lineup of players including two of my long time favorites, Doug and Mike, and one of my new favorites, Jim Cohen. It is always a treat for me to get to work with these great players.
Hey Jim, I'll bet everybody will love that great Suzy Boggess song you played in Va.
See ya soon,
Jim
