For those forumites in the Houston/Conroe area, I'll be at one of my favorite honkytonks, Borski's, this Saturday. Come hear in action the guitar that I recovered after an 18-year separation chronicled in this thread.
Gary has lots of steel in his music and I usually do two or three instrumentals a night as well.
Borski's is about 6 miles north of Conroe TX. Gig starts at 9pm. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

Darn it Herb, you are a week early. I will be in Willis on June 29 and June 30 for my wife's family reunion!!!!
Wonder who's playing there or in the area next weekend. One sometimes needs an in-law escape after a few hours. _________________ Bill Cunningham

Wow. I just read the story about recovering the Emmons. That guitar probably plays itself with all the good karma flowing from it. Or maybe the karma flowing from you. I thought the recovery of Brian's guitar was amazing. You got him beat by a mile.
Congrats for a happy, belated ending. |

Chris, tell Brian we're both brothers in a wierd, justice-prevails way. Or I can just tell him myself. But the thing about Brian surviving the car crash far outweighs the "luck - protected by Providence" factor by a mile.
Jody, I too love Borski's. The waitresses and bartenders are enjoyable to look at , the folks are friendly, and the owner seriously loves the good music.
News travels fast. When I got to the club, owner Barry Pollack, whom I've known for a long time, came up to me and said "I was playing golf with Ricky Davis today, and he told me you were gonna play a special guitar tonight."
Speaking of clubs like Borski's, another one I enjoy that's a little more, uh... redneck, shall we say?... but really cool is the Hangin' Tree in Bracken TX outside San Antonio. Owner: "Big John," of course. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
