Just finished a book by John Eldredge "Wild at Heart". Men need a Battle to Fight, an Adventure to Live and a Beauty to Rescue.
Changing gear and looking for ???? is the adventure, it keeps us excited, motivated, moving, looking etc. Boys are always taking something apart, or building some contraption, we are bred that way from the beginning, we are still just bigger boys.

The only difference between men and boys is the price of thier toys!
My pedal steel guitar sure cost a buch more than my first Sears and Roebuck flat top guitar!
Gas?? You bet!

Now I know why I have no room ( or money ) left because of way to many guitars...Thank you Larry for putting me straight on this. |

Good thoughts, Larry. The battle I fight is with the infernal contraption I am trying to play. My adventure is the gigs. The beauties I rescue are the fine used instruments I latch onto (the only ones I can afford), and the occassional lick or sweet passage I get just right. |

Whenever I get worried about my GAS problems I just look at my golf-playing friends - flying themselves and $2000 worth of sticks to Scotland, to get mad at a little ball they can just as easily get mad at at home. Hunters are a trip too - camouflage underwear?!? Where are those deer looking, anyway? |

Larry,
Great Book! It's definitely part of our make up. Well, time to go buy another steel. |

I read the book too, Larry, and if that's a good way to help justify having GAS to your wife - go for it!
I'll have to try that logic...but my wife will probably point out to me something like "that guy Ben Keith that plays pedal steel with Neil Young - isn't that the same black (Emmons S-10) guitar that he's had for decades?" _________________ Mark |
