I played the lightest S-10 pedal steel guitar I've ever picked up. It sounded good even through the amp that they provided that was not a steel amp. It was set up Emmons with 3 knees and 3 pedals and was p/p or pull and release and had SGI on the front and they said it was 5yrs old.

SGI (Steel Guitar International) are or were sold through Scotty. It`s Scotty`s brand I belive. I think the steel are built at the Excell factory in Tokyo, Japan.

I have a SGI S-10 3x4 which is an allpull and plays easy. The down side are that it is maybe too light so it will move around if you have a loaded knee lever.

Bo -

I bought an SGI S-10 3x4 from Scotty for $450 when I first moved to Chicago in '81. I've been beating on the thing, dragging it to gigs ever since & still plays beautifully - it gives you a nice, tinny, Mooney-ish feel when it warms up. The case long ago shredded but the guitar is light as a feather & you can bring it anywhere, easily.

I saw Mitsuo Fujii play the D-10 version in St. Louis that year & my only regret is that I didn't get that version.

Hi Casey
I found a 5 yr old SCI S-10 3&3 for $850. I don't know if thats a good price for a pedal steel with only 3 knees and by using them might tip the steel over. I understand that they don't sell these anymore because of the import fees and shipping from Japan make this same steel cost $1,400
