Do any of you have experience with replacing a broken Kevlar Cord inside an Ernie ball VPjr pedal?
I used it quite a bit for about year, and then the cord broke.
Do I need Kevlar cord?
Will some other string work just as well?
Thanks in advance

I'm not familiar with the Ernie Ball pedal, but if they are like other brands, BRAIDED masons twine works great. If you think that's the stuff you need, email me your snail mail address and I'll send you a lifetime supply. Just specify Hot Pink or Fluorescent Yellow. Rub it down with some rosin or candle wax to get some extra traction!

Bobbe Seymore has the right stuff just like came on it new,I have purchased some mason twine it is a little smaller and harder to hook up,but a lot cheaper. I don't think price is a big issue,how often do you buy a new string.Look on Bobbe's web site he shows it. |

I received the Kevlar cord and spring kit From ERNIE BALL, yesterday in the mail.
Installing the cord is a bit tricky, but if you follow the instructions exactly, it works.
It took me about an hour to get it correctly installed.
At one point I needed 3 hands! So my wife had to help me.
One addition: The instructions tell you to form a "hook" type tool from a paper clip...
I found that the unfolded paper clip is too short and flimsy.
I ended up using a much heavier solid wire about 12" long, and it was sturdy enough to help extend the spring while connecting the Kevlar cord.
Sincerely;
