Does anyone out there use "tumer oil" to clean out their volume pedal? I have a Goodrich and its starting to crackle.

I would reccomend Contact Cleaner.
This is evaporative and will not gum up the pot.
Oil will gum it up.

Make sure you use a contact cleaner/lubricant. This will clean out the contaminants and leave proper, and necessary, lubrication behind.

edit: that's electronic contact cleaner/lubricant. Radio Shack's version is here....

PENNY,
I bought two new pots and put in a couple of my pedals
and they were scratchy in two weeks.
I drilled a small hole in the cover and shot them with contact cleaner and it fixed them right up.
You can get the cleaner at most any electronics store.
I got mine at radio shack
good luck
Russ

In the past year have had three new pots put in two goodrich pedals, they were bad in about two weeks[the originals in both pedals lasted about 7 or 8 years]Can not afford one of those $300.00 pedals every one talks about, bought a Morley Little Alligater pedal for about 60 bucks, work fine and no more noisy pots. It's noise free going through the board in the studio.
