I just my copy today, WOW! This is really nice. There are 12 songs and some very good tablature. The back up tracks are first rate.
This is a very good investment into Herb's style. He looks like he uses some very interesting phrases and slants.
I have only had a chance to thumb through the book and listen to all 12 songs with Herb playing and am very impressed.
This is worth the price people. It looks like it gives us some different perspectives.
Great job Rick and Herb.
Now, to the woodshed.

Thanks for the good word Gary!
TUFF FUN TAB is the true path to Steely Goodness.
Sales of TFT are going well, there are a lot of A6 players out there I didn't know existed . .

This is a fine litle instruction course. Herby plays all nice and simple so the student can learn and once learned can add his own embellishments. The trax are real fine also, in fact I took the Spanish Eyes trak with me to a country club gig and it was well received. Had to play it three times. Congrats Rick. CC

Much to my suprise, I received a package from
Rick and it consisted of tabs and a cd, Herb and Rick certainly blended well together. I have to say it's one of the best efforts I have heard. I wouldnt mind getting down to Hollywood Beach and doing some original things with Rick. It would be my pleasure.
Not to mention the "chicks" on the boardwalk,

I got my copy of Tuff Fun Tab, and they are exactly what I had hoped for. They are not simply tabs, although this would have been fine, but these are truly aids to learning. Herb puts great emphasis on use of slants, phrasing, etc. These will make great tools for those trying to develop their skill on the steel guitar. He told me in Dallas that these would be tough and they are challenging, but that is what one needs to learn.
Of course, Herb is great on the tracks and the tabs are easy to read and follow. I appreciated the fact that the tabs included the chords so that those who play standard guitar can easily play along. I also think this will help me work on improvisation once I have mastered the basic tab as written.
Rick has done a nice job of packaging these materials and wow. I ordered it using Pay Pal on Saturday and it arrived via US mail on Monday. I was impressed.

Thanks Mike! We'll be listening to Swingin West tomorrow afternoon for sure.
David, would you like your copy of TUFF FUN TAB sent to Koh Samui?
Chuck, I'm so glad you're digging TFT. That's a good point about the chord symbols. They really do help with improvisation.
Drew, thanks for the kind words. This is all very encouraging, it's just the kind of thing Herb loves to hear!

I just got mine and it's great! I had a sneak preview just before it was released, and the finished product is awesome...A track of Herb playing the song, then the backup tracks by the fabulous Rick Alexander Band.
Hey, Sweet Talk could be the next Sleepwalk! Very catchy tune...I've been listening to it on repeat for about a half an hour already...the best thing is that it's tabbed, and very close to how Herb played it. I like Herb's tab because it gives a good solid framework of the songs, which is very helpful in learning A6th. The tab pages can be easily removed from the binder, and the paper is high quality.
I've been enjoying it ever since I took it out of the mailer.
A big thanks to Rick and Herb for putting this project out. The non-pedal steel guitar world needs it!
