When I posted last week about needing a control plate for my early '50's Dual Pro 8-string, several forum members jumped in with offers of photos, templates, etc. so I could make one (thanks Jon Light and John Dahms for those). Then Bill Creller offered to fabricate one for me from some stock he had on hand. It showed up yesterday and fits beautifully. For the first time since I got this thing I can play it without pots hanging in the air and a green ground wire running to a bridge screw. Bill gets my hero of the month award, and I'll be making a donation to the forum in his name when my next paycheck shows up.

Sure is a great place here. Nice folks and lots of good stuff to learn.

Bill Creller's a hard one to beat in terms of generosity and technical know-how. If I remember correctly, he's even built an airplane (?)!

Actually, I haven't really "built' an airplane, but have rebuilt three, from two truck-loads of parts. :D Plus some other less drastic rebuilds.

I'm getting too old and tired to do any major work like that anymore.

Glad to hear the bracket worked OK for you George.

Regards BILL
