Topic: Hooking up Evans with Session 400 |

I have been considering running my Evans E-200 with my Session 400 but don't want to blow something up. I would like run the Session off of the Evans. That is having the Evans as the controlling amp if possible. I know how to run my two 112's like that but don't know if the Evans/Session combination is even possible. I can run both amps from my volume pedal but was wanting to try doing it simple. Any help with this question would be appreciated.
For those of you who want to know why I want to do this, just to do it. It may come in handy some day.

For years I played with two amps, but now I use one because I don't play much anymore. My last setup before I tapered off was the combination of Evans FET500 and Peavey Nashville 400. I always used a splitter or a volume pedal with two outlets. For some reason, if I used any other setup, I would get an unwanted hum. I presently still have my Evans FET500, but I also have an Evans SE200 and if I were to use two amps again I would use that combination with my Goodrich LK10 double outlet. Back in the 70's when I was roading in Nevada and west coast, I used a Fender Twin and Fender Dual Showman amps. The twin was feeding to the showman. Very impressive sound, but at times I would get that unwanted hum. With some experimenting, I am sure you will come up with something that suits you. Everybody has a different approach and hear things differently.

Larry, some of the Evans amps have a pre-amp out with a volume knob on the back. I sometimes come out of the pre-amp out into the power amp in on my Nashville 400. That bypasses the EQ on the 400 and uses the Evans pre-amp sound. Seems to work pretty well. Just be careful with you volume settings when you hook it up. Start with volumes all the way off. An AC hum can usually be taked care of with an adapter.
