A big fat thankyou to Rick Johnson for another fantastic job well done!! Like Carl Williams and his Nashville 400 in the other thread, the weight of my twin reverb is quite manageable, and I can put the head next to me on the bandstand for easy tweaking, and place the extension cabs where I need them on stage. These are the real deal---the tone is enhanced greatly for my Shobud and Altec 418B--15" speakers now. This rig never sounded so good!! These cabs got ALOT of attention at the Tulsa Show, Rick!!
We will get you off that day job yet!! Laughing Cool

James, absolutely. Now there's a lot less grumbling,
the head cab is forty-something lbs, you have more flexibility in choosing your speaker options, and Rick's speaker cabs sound really good, minimal in size and weight (depending on speaker choice).
This is one of the best things I've done with a combo
amp, and tonally has been a real improvement, YMMV.
Before the switch I was using 2 D120's, and have gone
to 15's since, this could be partly responsible for
tonal improvement.
Is that some kind of chameleon-tolex on your cabinets?
The last photo shows the head to be turquoise--trick
of the light?

Joe.

James, nevermind; I went back and realized that turquoise is the tolex color...

Actually the color is green with gold grill clothe. Like Lloyd Green's cabs. Wink I still sound like me, though. Crying or Very sad

Hey guys
That tolex is called "Green Levant". The first
ones I made with this color were for our friend Lloyd Green. He liked it.

I have learned recently that the grill cloth
I used on these cabs is being discontinued.

Thanks

Rick

As most know, Rick will make cabinets for any brand amp anytime, to your taste. Any color tolex/grill clothe. These are my Fender colored cabs. (I replaced the JBL's with Altec 418B's long ago). Rick's cabs have a very "tight, strong" feel to them, too.
